One area where the later Modern Warfare games improved on the original was in their co-op levels, collectively known as Spec Ops. Introduced in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, these intense stages let players work together instead of duking it out in regular multiplayer, and they were a great inclusion. As has already been hinted, Spec Ops will indeed be returning in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the upcoming PlayStation 4 reimagining.
Speaking with Geoff Keighley on E3 Coliseum, Infinity Ward says the new Spec Ops is "live you've never seen it before," emphasising the idea that the story will carry across all gameplay modes. Adjacent to the main campaign, Spec Ops will have its own narrative elements too, which sounds like it could be interesting. Finer details are missing, but it's good to have confirmation of the co-op in the new game.

Looking forward to this, I enjoyed the Spec Ops mode.
Looks promising so far does this but I’m dubious after loosing interest in COD for the past few years.
Specs ops was great on MW2 though
spec ops was the best part of MW2.
Hope it’s split screen again. Loved those last few missions in MW2 and how much pain they caused hahaha
Bring back the jugganaut. They were fun, I mean yes I broke two controllers because I went through Spec Ops on my own but challenging fun
I really missed spec ops when they started only doing zombie mode. Fantastic couch co-op.
