When pixel art is done well, it can be very effective, and it looks like Blasphemous certainly fits the bill. This upcoming action game from Team 17 and The Game Kitchen is coming to PS4 in 2019, and it looks like a dark, creepy adventure.

Playing as The Penitent One, you must explore the cursed land of Cvstodia and hack your way through all kinds of nasties. As you can see in the trailer, you'll be going up against some pretty horrifying foes, but it seems you'll be well equipped to deal with them. Skill trees and upgrades lend the game a slight RPG edge. There have been a number of games like this over the last couple of years, but this looks like it could be a good one.
