We've been waiting for this moment to arrive, and perhaps surprisingly, it hasn't left us disappointed. There has been much concern over the blue blur's design, and while it isn't good news in that department, this trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie is actually okay.

It's self-aware, clearly isn't taking itself seriously, and looks to be an interesting take on the character. Perhaps the highlight, aside from the bonkers decision to use Gangsta's Paradise as the backing track, is Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik. He doesn't look much like the character we know and love, but a tease at the very end suggests he'll get there eventually.

Honestly, we think this could sit in the "so bad, it's good" category, which would be the best we can hope for. Sonic himself might look terrible, but this has some kind of strange potential. It could also be a massive turd, let's face it. What do you think of the first trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie? Walk through the valley of the shadow of death in the comments below.
