That's right, you didn't imagine another Bubsy game is on its way. Announced towards the end of last year, Bubsy: Paws on Fire is a sidescrolling auto runner from Choice Provisions, the studio behind the Bit.Trip Runner series. With similar on-rails running and jumping gameplay and multiple characters with unique abilities, it might be a slight improvement to the rubbish Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back. Might.
The game releases on 16th May 2019, so the return of gaming's most obnoxious platforming mascot is just over a month away. It'll be released digitally and physically, and you can even nab a Limited Edition, which includes a soundtrack sampler and a player's guide booklet.
Are you excited to see Bubsy making a comeback? List off more deserving platformer revivals in the comments below.

I can't help but feel if that internet didn't incessantly talk about how Sony Bend, or just Bend as they were back then, destroyed Bubsy's already fragile career, this would never have happened.
But some executive saw easy money because memes.
And now the little sod won't go back to that farm upstate because we all keep buying it out of morbid curiosity.
who asked for busby to come back.
And to think Busby 3D was Sony Bend's first game.
Thanks for the reminder. Bubsy is always game of the year material. Day 1. 😏
We can’t get a Half-life 3, but we sure are getting plenty of Busby games. Go figure.
Being an automatic runner kills this game for me. Wouldn't play that for free.
Ooooh I'm in. Day one.
Haven't played Bubsy since the good ol' Mega Drive days. Probably stay that way unless the trailers are any good.
@Knuckles-Fajita You're the only person I know who keeps bringing up Bubsy whenever Sony Bend is mentioned
@Octane Scroll up.
Anyway, I only bring it up because, well no one's first game will be a masterpiece but jesus christ….
Not a good start to ones record. XD
A little footnote of history I like to rib on. Just like how Nintendo made Ultra Smash.
Where is the coolspot comeback now that I would play.
What a catastrophe.
I suppose we all could just go and play Runner 3 instead
