Borderlands: Game of the Year edition is supposed to release tomorrow after its recent announcement at Gearbox's PAX East extravaganza, but the physical version of the game is almost nowhere to be seen.
The PS4 version is exclusive to Gamestop over in the US, and it doesn't look like there'll be one at all here in the UK or Europe. We've been trawling through listings on Amazon and GAME for the past couple of days now hoping to snag a copy. However, even where a physical edition is definitely supposed to be releasing, things are remaining very hush hush.
According to reports over on ResetEra, local Gamestops don't have a single copy ready in the back to go on store shelves or or are expecting any in a forthcoming delivery. You can't pre-order in-store, and the game hasn't appeared on any console digital storefronts at the time of writing. What's more, apparently you could actually put some money down for the title prior to release over on the 2K Games Official Store, but that listing now only displays the PC version.
So, come tomorrow, we're not sure exactly what's going to happen. We assume the digital version will crop up on the PlayStation Store at some point tomorrow, but the whereabouts of the physical edition is anyone's guess. This may have been a more limited and exclusive launch than it originally appeared.

digital preorders are not up on the store either, not sure what's going on.
Here's hoping they shock us all and release it tomorrow alongside and included with 3!
Will be getting it digital tomorrow but it did strike me as weird they announced a physical release with only a few days until launch. Keeping it (relatively) secret and getting it to actual stores in less than a week seemed a tall order. Guess we will find out tomorrow

I've been thinking the exact same thing for the last few days, I can only assume it'll be digital only at launch in most places. Either that or they used that laptop for the event to organise it all 😆
I managed to get a physical Ps4 pre order through the 2K store just after the announcement.
I was hoping for a disc copy to replace my ps3 copy of the game but looks like il be keeping it. A borderlands vr on disc would also be nice for the collection.
I was going to go digital anyway because I don't like Gamestop
Physical is only US/Canada, digital download will be available 7AM PT/1500 BST according to Borderlands main account
pre ordered mine over the weekend on the 2k store, got an email today telling me that are out of stock and they don't know when they will have more. So I asked for a refund

So I was speaking with my buddy who runs a gamestop in the US and he told me they received 4 copies for the whole store the day of the pax gearbox event. He said its first come first served at the door when they open tomorrow. Good luck all.

Yeah I went to preorder at my GameStop and they said they couldn’t do it. They are only getting 3 Xbox and 3 ps4 copies in and told me to come over at opening if I wanted to ensure I got a copy

Both of my physical copies just shipped . . . I also ordered my PS4 copy today. So this news is inaccurate
I was hoping to grab a physical copy but I can't find it anywhere.
As much as I love the Borderlands series, I feel that this is a rushed and sloppy release. It could have been handled better, unless Gearbox is planning something else.
You can pre-order on Gamestop.com. I went to the store yesterday and they said they weren't doing pre-orders but they would hold a copy for me.
On the GameStop app I was able to pre-order a physical copy of borderlands for Xbox
@Sawdy Yeah well my cousin's, best friend's uncle's barber's sister-in-law's roommate's babysitter's nephew who works for 2K says it will be available.
I preordered 2 (ps4,xb1) from gamestop online. They shipped this morning.
@RustyShackleford Well a lot of people cant get them so what is incorrect.
