The eagerly awaited Critical Mode for Kingdom Hearts III is set to release tomorrow as part of a free update, with a tweet from the game's official Twitter account stating that the mode will do things a little differently compared to previous titles.
For those that don't know, Critical Mode is the title's hardest difficulty - a welcome addition to an experience that many die-hard fans considered to be too easy. Other minor tweaks and additions will make up the update to a game we already consider amongst the best of 2019 so far. Following on from our original 9/10 review, this patch is set to make the game even better - for both newcomers and those who want to test themselves against the toughest Heartless out there.

It wasn't already included? Weird, I usually play KH games on Proud then replay on Critical.
I'm still bummed by how underwhelming this whole game was...Critical mode pobably won't change that.
Glad to see it added, but it should have been there at launch.

@nessisonett @Jaz007 critical mode is usually reserved for the final mix rereleases. So not that weird that it wasn’t included day 1.

Will it stop control of the game being torn away from you every few seconds for another cutscene? As someone that loved 1 and 2, and bought a ds, 3ds and psp specifically to play the other side entries, i couldnt help but be underwhelmed this time around. I wont be returning sadly.
I really liked the game, and will take any excuse to go back to it.

It's a little sad to see "free" specified for each update. The game was simply unfinished without this mode and it should have been included day one.
I wish these things didn't take so long to come out. Its going to be even worse for the story DLC stuff. It's nearly 2 months since I platinumed KH3 after playing through all the previous games, I was massively into it but now I've moved on.
