In addition to the 4K-enabled Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition which is due out next week, Gearbox is not leaving Borderlands: The Handsome Collection behind. The remastered compilation – which features Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel – will receive a free update from 3rd April boasting PS4 Pro support.

“Upgrade game textures such as characters, vehicles, weapons, and environments,” the press release reads. “Players will best appreciate all the added detail at 4K resolution, but improvements can be enjoyed on other displays as well.” In addition to the new textures, the developer’s re-encoded all of the cinematics, and even worked on the anti-aliasing and shadow maps.

“The Ultra HD Texture Pack is a free visual upgrade available to both new and existing product owners,” the blurb continues. “On the PS4 Pro, the texture pack will appear as downloadable content on the digital product page for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.” Another example of excellent post-release support from Gearbox, it has to be said.
