Tekken 7 is something of a fighting game rarity. The title launched back in 2017 and was immediately popular, but its biggest achievement is how it's actually managed to maintain a lot of its momentum. With a competitive scene that's gone from strength to strength and sales breaking 3 million copies last year, Tekken 7 has been an undeniable hit for Bandai Namco.

The game's second season pass wraps up later this week with the release of its last two additional characters: Julia and Negan. They're due out on the 28th February alongside a brand new update, but will the end of Season 2 signal the end of support for Tekken 7? It certainly doesn't sound like that'll be the case.

Speaking to the one and only Kenny Omega for ESPN Esports, Tekken series director Katsuhiro Harada says that the team would like to do a Season 3 "if possible".

"We would like to continue," Harada states. "Excitement around the game continues to build [...] it's not like we don't have a plan. We would like to consider a variety of possibilities." Nothing's set in stone, then, but it does seem as though Tekken 7 is here to stay.
