When did Final Fantasy XV come out again? It feels like an eternity ago! Square Enix is still busy beavering away on expansion packs for the role-playing game, however – although Episode Ardyn will be its last. You may recall that the publisher had several other packs in the pipeline, but they were scrapped when director Hajime Tabata departed. It’s probably for the best.
Anyway, the new add-on will launch on 26th March, and in order to get you in the mood, there’s a 15-minute animated short embedded above. Over in Japan, the publisher’s taking pre-orders for a special bundle which includes a novel based on the game, and while there’s no timeline attached, an English translation is planned. How many of you are still interested in Final Fantasy XV? Hands up.

sweet, can't wait for this one also the short was pretty good
I have yet to even go back and finish the main game.I got to Episode eight or nine and then left it when it was announced they were going to change the ending of something?
Is this part of season pass or royale edition. Or does everyone have to pay for it?
I am going to play Episode Ardyn for sure, best jrpg rival in ages
I wonder when Square is going to start working on Final Fantasy 16.
Probably after the 7 remake is almost done.
This is another one of those games on my ‘to start’ list. Other stuff keeps coming out and jumping ahead of it.
@Wazeddie22 they never changed the ending they just expanded the last dungeon to make it bigger
FF is a victim of its own success.
This game was a complete hot mess from the very beginning when it was first called Final Fantasy Versus XIII up to its unfinished story/final dlc. I'm glad I skipped this crap, the gameplay and story looked boring, the only redeeming qualities of this game is its visuals.
What makes this game even worse is SE were most likely going to sell the true ending in its canceled dlc, this is another reason why SE is complete trash, always canceling their dlc for their biggest releases and never finishing the stories, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided anyone?
I’m excited. I’ll need to pick up the Royal edition at some point and give FFXV a second playthrough.
@malbhet I haven't finished a FF game since 10 which was the last gold one for me I've finished 7 god knows how many times. And I've finished 8 only a few ironically I've never finished 9 lol I bought 13 and I absolutely hated it. The combat the characters the story was trash and yet this game from the announcement lost me and I never bothered with it, after all the so called dlc and Royal Editions I'm glad I didn't bother
@ellsworth004 it's not on the Royal edition.this one is the last dlc .word up son
@Nakatomi_Uk FF7,FF8 where masterpieces and FF9 was fantastic. Still have to finish FF10 and FF10-2 and FF12 i hope to see a Complete Package for FF13 on disc please. FF15 is a disgrace with a non complete story. Plus the release of a Royal Edition which isnt even a complete game. What are they going to call the Complete Edition the real Royal Edition or maybe the Complete Royal Edition..... 😑 😔
I must be missing something here. The Royal Edition is the Game + Season Pass so the dlc will be part of it? Right?
FF hasn't stayed the same game. Anyone comparing the old to the new doesn't get the idea they're completely different games but with an ethos that connects the m. It's like comparing the Injustice Games to the Batman Arkham games...
FF 7, 8, 9, 10 and all fantastic in the old school.
FF 12 went in a different direction but was fantastic if you didn't mind grinding it out
FF 13 tried to go back to the old ways instead of owning what it was. When they did, 13-2 and 13-LR then they became amazing in their own right.
FF 15 has made the same mistake as FF 13 but tried to go back to the ways of FF 12 which is just odd. Having said that, I like 15 purely for everything it does differently to every other FF game to date
@Stompin89 For me 15 is the absolute best because of the combat. I find it incredibly satisfying.
@Stompin89 I'm pretty certain SE is going to seperate this dlc from the Royal edition's season pass and make everyone who is still interested pay for it, remember this was supposed to be apart of a second season pass but the last two episodes of the second season pass were canceled.
I know one thing this FF game killed the franchise for me completely. I haven't bought a FF game since FFX, but I at least kept my eye on new entries, that is until this trash was unleashed onto the public like a savage coke driven mad dog sniffing out every cent SE could ever dream of from fans wallets O_O
Will the novel change chapter 13 and patch in lots of new content after release too for the authentic experience
I enjoyed XV, but I never felt like I needed the DLC episodes. I hope XVI doesn’t take a decade, but I imagine they haven’t really started on it yet. Especially with Kingdom Hearts 3 just launching and the VII remake seemingly taking priority until it launches.
All I can picture is Ramsey flipping the bird when asked to write another article on this
Also, anyone notice that if you take out the story from this and KH3 (story, ha), you've got a couple of games that took over 10 years to make and are eerily similar?
Keep it coming. I paid for a season pass dont rip me off.

Well they have to finish all the stuff they cut out and sell it so they can recoup the cost of a decade of development hell
@Nakatomi_Uk you should play xii for sure. Xii is the best of the ps2 generation
They should keep adding in to it, just that haters can come and waste their time trashing a game they don't like.
As for me, I welcome the addition to this beautiful messy yet fantastic game. Square Enix has been consistently upfront about any additions, so there's no reason why anyone should feel ripped off.

I had a huge amount of fun with FFXV - far from the best Final Fantasy story, and felt deliberately incomplete without the DLC (which I've still not gotten around to buying, but will do eventually on deep sale for the sake of completion, along with this Episode Ardyn), but the gameplay - though very different from traditional FFs - was fun enough for me to still love the game, I absolutely loved Ignis, and I still get the Chocobo theme and Altissia waltz stuck in my head randomly on occasion! After this dlc though, I'd rather see them call it a day and concentrate fully on FFXVI, as I don't wanna have to wait so long this time for another decent single player FF! 😉
FFXV didn't hit the spot for me. Everything is so clunky and horribly slow, and I read it was way worse when the game was released.
I just hope this episode wraps up the story nicely so SE can let it rest in peace and start working on the next solo FF so we can play it before we die of old age.
I have the season pass for Final Fantasy XV and I haven't played a single piece of DLC for it.
@johncalmc Me too. I was enjoying the game right out of the gate and bought the season pass on an impulse but haven't even started it.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't half tempted to fire it all up and give it a go.
Good thing I started a New Game + last December, I'm at chapter 14 and haven't played for over a month now. This is just the incentive that I needed to see the game through for a second time
