The original Shenmue is not a particularly long game, but its successor takes the best part of 30 hours to complete if you’re playing it for the first time. It sounds like – despite being built on a wafer-thin budget – Shenmue III will be longer, however, as series creator Yu Suzuki has implied in a new interview that it will be a “multi-week” game where its Dreamcast forebears were “single week” titles. There could be potential translation issues here so perhaps don’t bite too deeply.
Elsewhere in the discussion, Suzuki admitted that Chinese martial arts will be in the game, although not necessarily a part of protagonist Ryo Hazuki’s skill-set. Side-missions will apparently be better married to the main plot, while minigames will also be better implemented. Of those returning, Lucky Hit, Excite QTE, toy capsules, and forklift races will feature – although there will be some all-new ideas as well.

I still need to play 1 and 2. They have been on the PSN store for awhile now. But this backlog of games I have though.
As long as it doesn’t fall for the same trap as yooka layle. Thinking everything in the past was perfect and forgetting to update mechanics and gameplay that should be modernized.
Great to hear, I’ll have a blast with this next August.
Just give me more toy capsules
@darkswabber
From the same interview cited in this article (machine translated but you get the gist), Yu Suzuki says the game constitutes a 50/50 split between new ideas and old ones. Actually in the same answer deals a lot with areas they plan to improve over the originals.
Not that this was ever a concern. Many interviews before this had Yu Suzuki saying he wants to bring new ideas to the table, and that they wouldn't be developing this entry the same as the originals.
Sounds nice. I replayed the first one and it is still as charming and fun as I remembered, will be replaying the second one around May/ June to get ready and hyped!
@Spaghetti that’s really good to hear!
@Frigate ah, thanks for the heads up there.
Just finished the first one having never played them. Man it needed a time skip feature in places lol but i did enjoy it. Looking forward to playing number 2 and hope 3 does well
@Danloaded
You're in luck. Shenmue II allows you to skip time during quests that require you to be there at a certain time of day.
pray this game gonna be great. let me pre-order this now in Playstation Store
@ResidentEvil2 U missed out it was Kickstarter only.
@Badboyfx86 umm why ?
@ResidentEvil2 That’s how The Game was announced and set up at E3 2015. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/technology/2015/jun/16/shenmue-3-kickstarter-crowdfunding-hits-target

@Badboyfx86 Lets not get silly, this will 100% be available for preorder on the ps store by early summer. Maybe even sooner.
@hulkie It’s all about being familiar with KickStarter games which are a one time thing for a dedicated certain amount of gamers, do research and you’ll understand.
I hear a lot of doubt about this game. I highly disagree and think he is pouring everything into this for himself and long time fans
@Badboyfx86 That's not how any Kickstarter games I've backed work, and this is no exception.
It'll be widely published by Deep Silver this coming August, and you can already find venues taking pre-orders. There will be an increased push once the marketing cycle begins.
Rest assured @ResidentEvil2, you'll be able to buy this game when it's available.
@Spaghetti Oh ok thx for the update
@Spaghetti you mean when pre-order available ?
@ResidentEvil2 Sure. There are a few places you can preorder already, depending on your region.
