Remember The Hong Kong Massacre? It debuted during Sony's showcase at Paris Games Week 2017, but news regarding the title has been slim to none since then. Developer Vreski has finally stepped out of the shadows, announcing that the game will arrive on PS4 on 22nd January 2019.
The Hong Kong Massacre, as you can see in above trailer, is essentially Hotline Miami in terms of gameplay, although Max Payne style slow motion and movement are layered on top. It looks pretty good, and we only have to wait a few more days to try it.
Will you be picking up The Hong Kong Massacre on PS4? Dive through a window into the comments below.

Hey Stephen, Thanks for pointing this out for me I really enjoyed Hotline Miami but never finished 2 it felt like it didn't flow I wasn't exactly a combo king but HM 1 just felt more fluid. This seems interesting but the slow mo and it looks like he jumps between buildings all cool in practice but if you get graded like HM it could kill the flow.
Looks like a 90's John Woo film in a really good way.
@gingerfrog I totally forgot about John Woo's Stranglehold on PS3. Hard Boiled is one of my favourite movies and Stranglehold's definitely due some more love.
max Payne playa.this game looks đź‘Ť.word upson
@nessisonett Stranglehold was really good imo
I'm a big fan of Hotline Miami (1, anyway, A+ed most of the levels, 2 was pretty sucky).. not totally loving the art style in this but I could get used to it if the gameplay works. Looking forward to your review, could be an instabuy for me!
@kyleforrester87 yeah as I said in my comment above Hotline Miami 2 just didn't flow which was a key element to 1 but that is just my opinion obv lol
I never played HM, but this looks fantastic. I’ll definitely be picking it up.
@MonkeyDLuffy19 I don't know how they messed up the second one so bad to be honest. Maybe the first was a fluke.
This looks pretty good, some cool and smooth action. The Splinter effects looks awesome. I might think about getting it if it’s shorter and gets a good review.
@kyleforrester87 yeah I was hyped for HM 2 but just couldn't finish it
@MonkeyDLuffy19 I also loved Hotline Miami 1 but didn’t enjoy 2 quite as much. The first game is excellent!
@nessisonett Stranglehold and sleeping dogs were amazing
Max Payne is back with a vengeance!...what?He's not in this game?oh right..
Loved Max Payne and I loved Hotline Miami like a lot of the people here. This looks awesome!
I remember that first trailer... still very interested although it will nees solid reviews for me to buy day one!
@Quintumply Well as a fan of HM am I to assume you are gearing yourself up to do a review of the Hong Kong Massacre. If that is the case I will be most interested to see how it compares to HM.
Max Payne, Kayne & Lynch, Hotline Miami.
This game looks outstanding like a real life topdown shooter.
