Alien: Isolation doesn’t appear on many ‘Best Of’ lists these days, but it’s definitely one of those early generation PlayStation 4 titles that’s still worth playing. And it looks like its protagonist, Amanda Ripley, could be about to make a comeback. A new Twitter teaser claims that the character’s story “deserves to be told”, and it also makes reference to “Read. Watch. Play”.
So what does it all mean? Some are hypothesising that 20th Century Fox may have a new interconnected media strategy lined up, with games, books, and films all on the way. To be fair, it’s not the first time we’ve seen a rumour like this, as the company trademarked Alien: Blackout prior to The Game Awards 2018 last year. Something is cooking for sure.

Isolation is inside my top 10 games of the generation for sure, it was basically a perfect Alien video game. Of course I'd like a high quality Alien game with a bit more shooty-shooty too. Wish they'd hurry up and tell us what they've got in store already, it better not be a big let down!
i would prefer a film to be honest
@FullbringIchigo mmm I don't dislike any of the Alien films, but Isolation is a better experience than any of the films after Aliens. And I say that being quite a fan of Alien 3..
@kyleforrester87 they should drop Alien 3 and Resurrection from the series and do a film with her daughter set between Alien and Aliens and then do a follow up to Aliens where Ripley, Hicks and Newt are a family and been living together when a new threat arises that they have to take care of
@FullbringIchigo isn't that something like what theNeill Blomkamp films were going to do? To be honest I don't love the idea of seperate time lines with this kind of franchise. I think they are doing the same with the next Terminator film too? Although I guess that makes a bit more sense, what with the whole time travel aspect.
@Frigate I'd take a Half-Life 1 style colonist versus Aliens situation, then throw an enemy mop-up crew into the mix after the halfway point. Let me lead a load of them into a choke point and release a bunch of face huggers.
Or a game where I play as the a$$hole suit trying to smuggle an embryo off planet 😂
@kyleforrester87 i think so but it doesn't have to be a separate timeline just say "these ain't part of the series canon anymore", films do it all the time just look at what Disney did with the Star Wars EU, they scrapped the entire thing and did their own thing
speaking of Disney they own FOX now so i wonder if we will get anymore Alien films
@kyleforrester87 only aliens film i can really say i didnt like was Convenant.
Bit worried that we are going to back into fps territory tho. Seeing as last year not many good or AAA survival horrors came out. WB may not have the faith in the genre.
@Danloaded I thought Covenant was better than Prometheus and Resurrection myself. Wasn't exactly great though.
Not interested in another alien survival horror game, but I'll be there day one if it's fps action game like pc alien vs predator
@kyleforrester87 ''What's this weird looking alien thing?!? Let's smell it!!!''
The next one won't be any better, will it?
@Octane to be fair though I do smell EVERYTHING.
The problem is, really, the later films have promised to provide "answers" as to where the Aliens came from, how mankind came to be etc and it's all much better in our imagination.
Just get Michael Biehn back in the mix.
Absolutely loved Isolation and the first Alien, not so much the James Cameron sequel. I'd rather have another survival horror but if this goes the way of, let's say, the Metro series it might still be interesting.
Alien Isolation is absolutely on my best of PS4 list and well inside the top 10 to boot but for Resident Evil VII (and soon to be 2) this would be my favourite horror game on the system. Bring on a sequel I say it can't be as bad as those dreadful Prometheus films
Best stealth and best horror this gen for me.
Yes please, need more alien
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L did you finish the game? Genuine question
@grahamd to be fair I wasn't meaning to sound overly critical it's just that there is quite a bit more to the game than he's suggested, like you said there is a brilliant build up and a pretty mental finale. Just wondering if he got to see all that, and enjoyed the flamethrower!
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L it does get better to be honest, I too have to admit after the initial hour I found myself wondering if I'd enjoy the rest of it, but then a few hours after that I was hooked. I would also say it's potentially a few too many hours long all together.
Yes please!!!!! 😁 I loved Alien Isolation.
@kyleforrester87 Michael Biehn? No offence, but he’s just a grunt 😁
@CarterJBurk

I hope. Alien: Isolation was an incredible game — and very underrated. The only real flaw, I thought, was that the ending dragged on. Other than that it's a fantastic experience.
@kyleforrester87 Better be ready for that Colonial Marines 2 announcement 😂
@MadAussieBloke yeah skulking around with the scanner was so dope
PSVR patch for Alien Isolation please!
@kyleforrester87 What baffled me about Covenant was that Ridley Scott decided to write characters that where just as dumb, if not even dumber, than those in Prometheus.
I have seldomly seen characters as stupid as in those to movies.
Isolation on the other hand is the best thing "Alien" since the first, perhaps second sequel.
I really wanted to like isolation but once I realized the alien would respawn nearby once you put enough distance between you and it I became very disappointed. To be fair I think I hate pretty much every first person horror game aside from "condemned: criminal origins" and "F.E.A.R."
@kyleforrester87 you smell everything? Well fair enough.
@kyleforrester87 😁👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@Futureshark
you've got my vote!
