great, and according to them hundreds of thousands voted, so not a small pool of people
Some interesting choices here, like Monster Hunter in the "Best Ongoing Game" category, despite it being released in 2018.
God of War is a good game and all, but people are riding it a little too much. Okay, maybe way too much. Just to say a little, Tetris Effect & RDR2 have better soundtracks. God of War’s music was pretty mediocre & forgettable. Christopher Judge did fine, but he didn’t deserve best performance. Kratos was either stern or calm, didn’t really feel anything for him. I would’ve nominated Atreus’s voice actor because he’s just much better & everything I enjoy about him, I hate about Kratos. Apart from god of War, Arthur Morgan & Spider-Man felt like real people with emotions told through their voice and facial expressions. You can’t tell me these sites aren’t biased.
Hate me all you want.
Finally some love for The Forest!
I'm playing GoW right now; I'm a bit surprised because of its tombraideresque tone. I was expecting a mix of 75% combat and 25% exploration but I feel the percentages are inverted.
Woot!... Basically same selection as DICE

It will do well there also. PS4 just keeps on delivering year after year.
@OmegaYato reads like a very similar comment on the blog
@OmegaYato the problem is opinions are like ar#e holes in the fact that everyone has one.
I for one was glad to see the back end of RDR2. Far too long winded game that dragged at the end big time for me. That's just my opinion tho.
God of War keeps winning, now is by far the most acclaimed game of the last year.
God of Awards indeed.
Nice, it's my game of the year too
Also it's cool that christopher judge win best performance, he deserved it.
@Kidfunkadelic83 @AdamNovice This guy is saying again how biased are PS sites, but God of War is the game with the most awards including the all formats sites. And how the hell you can say that the soundtrack is mediocre?
I would say Shadow of the Colossus has the best soundtrack.
I would argue that this year has been quiet for releases judging by the repeating games
When Red Dead 2 is second in multiplayer, you have to question your life and just go back to playing Rainbow Six Rogue Spear via 56k.
The narrative, sound design, soundtrack and voice performance must be phenomenal for it to top RDR2.
@AdamNovice I made that comment
@fuzzy833 Multiplayer would be fine if it wasn’t for the griefers. Monster Hunter World is an excellent multiplayer game
@PS_Nation It’s obvious PS Sites are biased. The first reason is because PlayStation or something related to playstation is in the name, fanboy. The soundtrack is as forgettable as the re-skinned troll fights, can’t tell anyone a single score apart from the main theme that keeps on playing in different tones. Adds no emotional depth to anything. I’ll give you a list of games with better soundtracks than this.
@OmegaYato You're making the sound track a bigger issue than it really is xD
We get it, you don't like it and that's fine. We all have different opinions.
@RawnDawn He wanted me to talk about the soundtrack so I did. And I said my rant was small & I never said I don’t like God of War, I said think it’s a good game but it’s way too overhyped.
@OmegaYato Got it man, I didn't see the other dude comment wanting you to explain your self mb.
@OmegaYato Bear McCreary nailed the soundtrack, the Viking tunes are pretty great and many are also praising. I’m glad that I have the soundtrack on iTunes. It was inspired by Viking folk.
If you don’t like it, that’s your opinion and problem.
Btw, it’s not your first time that you are using name calling after someone argued with your opinion. Reported.
@OmegaYato xbot alert!
@OmegaYato yeah the hundreds of sites that gave gow goty are biased you caught them the jig is up smh come on now be serious. If you’re going to stan for other games that’s fine but don’t try to belittle another game especially one that’s been a huge achievement just to make yourself feel better.
I'm playing through it now and though I'm enjoying it, the controls turned me off. Took quite a while to be okay with them. I like this version of Kratos and look forward the the end story, but it really hasn't felt like home to me yet. Altreus has been a surprise in how well he plays. I love the music, which probably, for me, the best aspect so far. Spiderman would've still been my GotY, unless something emotionally hits me as I get closer to the end.
Best game of 2018 without a doubt
@dark_knightmare2 I never said the sites that gave the game the awards are biased. I said the PlayStation focused sites are biased, are a lot of you so caught up in your own PlayStation world that you have to take offense to everything said against PlayStation? In my eyes god of war is good & serviceable, but not an achievement because it doesn’t do anything that is noteworthy or special, everything in that game has been done before. God of War isn’t the first series to reinvent itself & be successful at it. In this fanbase it’s impossible to voice negative opinions about a playstation exclusive without the fans assuming someone just hates the game.
@mkonji Not having a high opinion of everything with PlayStation on it automatically means I’m an Xbox fan. Got it. Anyway, you & the two that liked your comment are more than welcome to search Sage_Roy on PSN & see what I play
@PS_Nation “Viking folk”. Not all Norsemen people were Vikings. Cry me a river. If you’re going to get offended and resort to reporting because you can’t say anything in defense of your favorite game, you shouldn’t try to debate with people who think otherwise. Bear McCreary only has one serviceable track because it’s heard multiple times throughout the game & not for the right reasons. God of War 3 came out nearly a decade ago, yet the Hades boss fight music is still more memorable than anything on the new soundtrack.
@OmegaYato if you were trying to make a point... I totally missed it
@mkonji Doesn’t surprise me at all. You’re calling people Xbots just because they aren’t putting a PlayStation game on a pedestal? You just make yourself look stupid.
That's rich. I can send that same line back at you. You're calling people clueless just because they don't agree with you. Cry me a river, Xbot. See? Two can play that game.
@mkonji Never called anyone clueless, stop with the damage control. Just another example of a stupid PlayStation fanboy.
