That's quite a lot to get into a headline, so let us explain. Ahead of the launch of Spyro: Reignited Trilogy, Activision has created a Spyro-shaped drone, and it's embarked on a country-wide flight towards Snoop Dogg in order to deliver him a copy of the new game. It can also breathe fire.
As far as marketing strategies go, this is up there with some of the zaniest stuff the industry has seen. Using the hashtag #SpyroToSnoop, the game's official Twitter account is keeping track of the Spyro drone's location as it travels from New York City to Los Angeles. It's stopped a few times to do things like set alight a Toasty scarecrow, compete in a drag race with a fanboat, and admire some fine tattoo work.
It's a pretty amusing campaign, even if the link between Snoop Dogg and Spyro is questionable. Presumably, we'll see how it all ends just before the game's release next week on 13th November.
