Bethesda took the opportunity at E3 2018 to announce two new titles: Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6. Both games, which are in production at its acclaimed Bethesda Game Studios team, are hotly anticipated releases, but when will we learn more about them? “A while from now and a really long while from now – respectively,” communications bigwig Pete Hines told Eurogamer.net.
He explained that the reason the titles were announced so early was because it didn’t want fans to worry it was ditching traditional single player games after announcing the online focused Fallout 76. “Timeframe-wise, it would still be about as long as you'd expect when you look at Fallout 3 to Skyrim to Fallout 4 to Fallout 76,” he said. “It's still going to be those periods of time, that hasn't changed.”
There were about three or four years between the releases Hines mentioned, but Fallout 76 does muddy matters slightly because it’s been mostly led by a different team. Our guess? You’re probably getting Starfield in 2020 at the earliest, and then The Elder Scrolls 6 a good three or four years on from that. We’re talking deep into PlayStation 5 territory, then.

Skyrim was released in 2011! It's been so long and now I have to wait even longer? 😩 I need my ES fix! It's their main franchise, why the hell even release a reveal trailer if it's still years off. I'm all about waiting for a game, if they release a finished, clean product but this is just way too long.
ES6 will be the launch title for the Holodeck.
Bethesda will probably release more Skyrim ports before these games.
So before the FFVII remake then.
Ok, so Elder Scrolls 6 will come out just around when rumors of the PlayStation 6 start to hit the web. Seems legit. Thanks for the heads-up Pete.
The ES6 remaster is shaping up to be a real highlight of 2035.
@Amusei They’re probably waiting because people keep buying Skyrim. They’re also (hopefully) making ES6 absolutely incredible us No Skyrim’s profits to help fund an extra long development.
I am only interested in single player games(Offline). I wonder if all the future games will be online play only.
@PS_Nation I probably buy skyrim again if there's ps5 4k & 60 fps port.
Oh god, Elder Scrolls 6 won't be out until I'm like, 32. That's wacky to think about.
@rjejr 🤣🤣🤣
@BowTiesAreCool Maybe you can bring us there in the T.A.R.D.I.S.
Wait, deja vu, I've used that joke with you already haven't I?
Skyrim/ oblivion and fallouts great for repeat play through. eso not so good fake elderscrolls
"We don't want fans to worry about us ditching traditional singleplayer games... so here are 2 future games you won't know a single detail about for possibly years". That makes sense, how?
@Jaz007 If we're gonna have have to wait that long, it better be the best game ever created 😂
Announcing games 6 years in advance is never a good idea.
They make a new successful Skyrim release every year, so they have no reason to rush this one.
Will they try to fix any bug on this one or will it be up to the fans to fix the game?
And I bet that ES 6 will still be a buggy mess and mods will be fully blocked by then if Bestheda has there way with Creation Club now firmly planted
@AllTheReddist I'm 60 now, I doubt I'll be buying the next one, shame really
I love it when companies ignore their best, most popular, most successful franchises for over a decade to pursue mediocre franchises like fallout. Why do they not have 1 team working on fallout and one working on Elder Scrolls so we wouldn't have to wait what is now looking like 10-15 years between Elder Scrolls games? 10-15 years is a ridiculous wait. Even 5 years is REALLY pushing it. 2-3 is probably good. ES6 probably should have already been out for a couple years by now.
