FIFA 19 PS4 PlayStation 4 UK Sales Charts 1

FIFA 19 sprung Marvel Spider-Man’s offside trap to secure the biggest launch of 2018 in the UK – even though physical sales are down 25 per cent year-over-year. It’s worth remembering that GfK Chart-Track only takes into account physical sales right now, so the digital data may skew matters somewhat. The title sold best on the PlayStation 4 by some margin, with Sony’s console sweeping up 64 per cent of the share; the Xbox One accounted for just 35 per cent, while the Nintendo Switch was forced to settle for a paltry one per cent.

Of course, it means that Insomniac Games’ superhero title was forced down into second after three weeks at the top, though it’s managed to overtake Far Cry 5 to maintain its place as the second best-selling game of the year in Britain. Elsewhere, Shadow of the Tomb Raider enjoyed another respectable hold, finishing in third place, while Valkyria Chronicles 4 debuted in ninth position, with most of the sales coming courtesy of the PS4.
