It's been a big week for PlayStation 4 software in Japan, where three brand new PS4 titles have stormed the top of the charts. Straight in at number one is Warriors Orochi 4, shifting a very reasonable 101,000 copies on Sony's system. Its success suggests that Japan wasn't burned too badly by the dismal Dynasty Warriors 9.
Following up in second is The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV, the final entry in the Trails of Cold Steel saga. It sold around 85,000 copies on PS4. And then, coming in at number three, we've got FIFA 19, moving a decent 58,000 copies.
Of course, this means that Marvel's Spider-Man has lost its crown after three weeks in a row at the top. However, Spidey didn't actually fall that far, settling in sixth place with a further 23,000 copies sold. Not bad at all.
Again, though, strong software sales weren't quite enough to drag PS4 hardware numbers back up to where they were a number of months ago. The regular system did see a slight jump at 15,000 units -- with the PS4 Pro shifting 5,000 units -- but it's a relatively small increase. Still, a very solid week for Sony.

Will be interesting to see how the price drop affects Pro sales going forward vs the Slim's sales. There is also speculation that Sony is prepping to make the Pro the only SKU in the lead up to the PS5 reveal, whenever that's happening.
Japan might be the one place where Sony drops the Pro when PS5 gets announced and they just sell a future cheap PS4 Slimmer Slim. I think the rest of the world would get a Pro Slim. Backwards compatibility is a factor, dont need to buy a Pro if PS5 does the same thing.
God I freaking love the switch yet hate Nintendo hate seeing them do well
Looks like Tecmo Koei is now back on track.
Switch is killing it! Disapointing sales of valkyria chronicles 4 though? Doesnt bode well for the future of that series. Did the ps4 version do much better?
Nice to see that Warriors sold better on PS4.
Valkyrie 4 sold okay and better on PS4 too. At least in Europe/UK.
@Rob_230 The PS4 version of VC4 sold 62,921 units in its first week.

Nice, may check out new warriors orochi when it hits europe, wouldn't be surprised if sony copies nintento at some level with the ps5, especially how much japan love handheld things
