Fallout 76 is taking the property in a very different direction, going all-in on online multiplayer. As such, it's apparently time for live action trailers that, well, aren't exactly what we've come to expect from Fallout. Cue a woman in a field spinning in a circle while firing automatic weapons and a deathclaw that belongs in a Saturday morning cartoon. It's weird to see.
Now, while we're always open to trying new things, there's something about the direction of Fallout 76 that's just not very... Fallout. We're so used to sombre desolation and dark humour -- some of the stuff in this trailer looks like it was meant for RAGE 2.

And you thought Fallout 4 was betraying the series' roots!
If the game is as good as the advertising has been...
Yawn.
Basically if you watch this trailer as a Fallout Fan either
A: You’ll think you took waaaaayyyyyy too much of dat good stuff...
B: You’d wish today was April 1st and this was the best April Fools Prank you’ve ever fell for.
I'm curious if this game will sell well or flop. If we judge the gaming sites and communities, it looks like that people are really not excited, but I wonder if the mass market will embrace Fallout 76.
Anyway, I'm not a multiplayer guy, this game is not on my radar.
I felt like Mama Murphy watching that.
Forget about not being very Fallout that's just a rubbish trailer in general
How to completely miss the point of your franchise in 60 seconds
I think that trailer may be tonally different to reflect the fact Fallout 76 isn’t a traditional Fallout experience. I won’t be buying the game myself, but I think it’ll sell quite well...just maybe not as well as Bethesda hopes.
So it's still fallout 4.76
Lol
From what I have seen and heard this game is not for me.
i'm really beginning to think they want the game to fail!
Lol they are taking the pee now surely? That trailer would have looked dated in the psone era, never mind 2018.
Given the xbox slogan at the end, it would be amusing if the ps4 version performs better
Who could combine the classic 'Wouldn't It Be Nice' with the visuals of a pretty young woman, eyes closed, in a state of bliss, and all while spinning and firing automatic weapons from each hand El Mariachi style? Quentin Tarantino?
Not my idea of a Fallout game but entertaining to watch.
Is anyone actually looking forward to this? They're already pushing it on X1X hard with a discounted bundle that included RDR2, sounds like it's not performing well with preorders.
Try as they may, no live action trailer will ever top the guy from avatar and Jonah Hill in 'Vet and N00b' for MW3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5VPCdPs0Dw
The entire point of live action trailers is celebrities. Wouldn't it be better if that blonde girl was the khaleesi from GoT and the asian guy who looks like Steven Yeun was actially Steven Yeun?
Also the music (and tone) stolen directly from Team Fortress 2.
Fun commercial but im still not convinced about the game, which seems weird because normally id be losing my mind over a new fallout
To be fair fallout 4 had a live action intro and I am in the “i like fallout 4” camp. However, I’m not at all hyped for this. I’m not saying it’s gonna be poo, I’m sure there’s plenty of people that will get a kick out of it but it’ll have to be heavily discounted to warrant my hard earned cashish. On the bright side, if it makes good money, that will likely mean TES VI and Starfield have more moolah to play with. They’ll still be buggy as hell of course but that’s part of the charm I suppose.
@PS_Nation very likely they will... the majority don’t follow sites or post opinions and play, largely mindless, titles designed for quick pick up and play or intense competition with a high skill ceiling.
The thinking gamer is, very sadly, in woeful minority... and Bethesda know it f course.
I guess times have got a bit tight and they decided to desicrate the most mass market approchable of the two IPs
I thought of the Sucker Punch movie when I saw the girl with the dual machine guns.
I think the new Fallout 76 ad really is great - but they can throw in every beautiful blonde they can find, it’s still not going to get me to buy the game. The more I learn about Fallout 76, the worse it looks; online only, multiplayer, NO NPCs, settlement building, “survival” gaming, I suspect lots of in-game purchases - literally everything I hated about Fallout 4 and hate about gaming in general. I’ve played every “Fallout” game since it’s original precursor “Wasteland” in 1988, but this one is getting a hard pass from me.
