The most interesting thing that’s happened in the snooker-verse recently is Ronnie O’Sullivan claiming that the K2 Leisure Centre in Crawley smells of urine – so it’s perhaps a good thing that smell-o-vision hasn’t been invented yet, seeing as upcoming PlayStation 4 title Snooker 19 is officially licensed and will feature 128 of the world’s top players as well as iconic venues, including, we assume, the aforementioned “hellhole”.
Developed by Leamington-based Lab42 – not This Is Pool maker VooFoo – and published by Ripstone, you’ll be able to take to The Crucible as ‘The Jester from Leicester’ and ‘Pot Noodle’ as you attempt to dominate the baize in the first officially licensed snooker game of the generation. “I can’t wait for the chance to try the game out, I’m sure it will make for a truly immersive experience,” said former World Champ Shaun Murphy.
The game’s going for authentic gameplay and television-style presentation, which hopefully means John Virgo will be on hand to send us all to sleep with his best ASMR impressions. The game’s due out next year – presumably prior to the World Championships in April.

Finally! Ive been waiting for a snooker game on ps4 for ages
great also boxing and a football manger would be good
Oooh I'm in. The snooker expansion to Pure Pool was decent gameplay-wise but hopefully this will be better presented.
@jswhitfield8 Glad to have confirmation. 🤣
This is unexpected... and excellent!
Hopefully it'll have an appropriately drum & baize soundtrack... I'll get my coat.
I think Snooker 19 really needs to support PSVR. Lining up pots on a flat TV screen without the 3D depth just won't be the same.
I don't think I have seen a decent Snooker game on the last couple of PlayStation consoles so I have high hopes for this. I'll see if I can pick up where I left off with Jimmy Whites Snooker on my trusty old Amiga, I used to really love snooker games.
My only gripe with this game is the horrible, generic nature of the title.
