Here's an interesting little story for you. ZeniMax, the parent company of Bethesda, has filed a trademark for something called "Redfall". The official documentation doesn't give anything away, but it's entirely possible that this could be the name that Bethesda has gone with for The Elder Scrolls VI.
Those familiar with the long running role-playing series will know that each game has its own subtitle, which, in the mainline games, is most often the name of a place. The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim all fit the bill.
The Elder Scrolls VI: Redfall wouldn't follow this trend based on what we already know -- there isn't any known location in The Elder Scrolls lore called 'Redfall' -- but it could have something to do with the Redguards, one of main playable races in The Elder Scrolls. What's more, much speculation suggests that The Elder Scrolls VI takes place in Hammerfell, the homeland of the Redguards.
It seems like a logical conclusion to us, but what do you think? Tell us if The Elder Scrolls VI: Redfall has a ring to it in the comments section below.

"Redfall"...
..."Redfall"...
Yeah I can imagine buying that 6 times on multiple systems over the next decade.
really need to up there game after the witcher 3, went back to skyrim and its just so lifeless and dull compared to witcher
redfall sounds nice but why not call it "hammerfell"?
altough they did not call IV "cyrodill" so it's not the first time they went away from their province names.
also while i love the witcher 3 aswell,i'm getting tired of always seeing those "they need to step up their game after the witcher 3" coments whenever an RPG is talked about.
there is a big chance that they will anyway since they already said that the stuff they want to do with 6 can't be achieved on current gen.
Skyrim never did it for me not bad just boring.
@jdv95 You are right replace that with Legend of Dragoon. 😁
Should have called it Elder Scrolls VI: Cornwall. Ooh arr, exclusive to PS5, it be.
@suikoden I respectfully disagree, it's two very different styles of RPG, with a focus on different things. Elder Scrolls follows the traditional dungeon crawling of classic PC rpgs, while the Witcher series follows a more European action-rpg tradition.
Looking at each franchise the Witcher series has much stronger emphasis on story, characters and narrative. The Elder Scrolls have a much stronger emphasis on exploration, customizing/designing your own experience, and sheer game-world scale.
Elder Scrolls I - Arena.
I feel like playing Skyrim for the umpteenth time now.
@ApostateMage yeah i wanna play skyrim again
Ive played skyrim so many times i know whats in each cave before i go in. Witcher 3 was a great game but i still prefer The Elder Scrolls slower and more adventuring style of gameplay.
Hopefully It's good, I didn't like Skyrim.
Loved Oblivion, found Skyrim to be very 'meh...' and am currently loving Elder Scrolls Online. Will wait and see - also depends on what system it'll be targeted for. PS5?
@jdv95 That is because the Witcher 3 highlight the cons of Elder Scrolls games and that was combat and graphics. Fallout 4 and ESO both look worse than the Witcher 3, even though the Witcher game is the oldest. Even now PC's can't have everything turned on and get high framerates. Combat also needs fleshing out to make it feel more organic. More impactful quests wouldn't hurt either but for the most part the quests were good in Skyrim.
@sanderson72 As they are likely targeting the PS5 and Xbox 2 I want this world to look stunning in both 1080p and 4k. Ok with loading times in all the dungeons so long as when I get in there I feel like I just stepped into a real and different cave/dungeon at 60FPS.
I put in a different forum, when the first trailer came out, that I think it will be Highrock and Hammerfell together. It would provide a comparable sized map and be the first Elder Scrolls game based in 2 provinces. "Red" for Hammerfell and "fall" for Daggerfall or Highrock. If I get this right, it would be a first for me
