Check Out the First 15 Minutes of Geralt's Story Mode in SoulCalibur VI

Veteran SoulCalibur player Kayane has uploaded 15 minutes of Soul Chronicle mode gameplay from Soulcalibur VI. Soul Chronicle, for those out of the loop, is the game's character-based story mode, with each playable fighter getting their own tale that's told through a series of battles.

Guest character Geralt is the star of this particular video, which makes it an especially interesting watch if you're already a fan of The Witcher. Bandai Namco seems to have slotted the White Wolf into the world of SoulCalibur really well.

All in all, Soul Chronicle mode looks pretty good. It's got a lot of voice acting and some lovely artwork. What's more, it seems pretty meaty. This is 15 minutes of footage, after all, and it barely covers three fights.

Definitely the fighter I'm looking forward to the most. This campaign is looking ace.

@Lando_ I can't think of any modern fighting games that have character-specific story modes featuring proper in-depth cutscenes.

I know it's not amazing, but this seems like a lot for a fighting game in 2018.

@Lando_ Also, apologies, but I've had to edit your username to remove the underscore before Lando. By having two underscores either side of the word, it made it so that replying to you doesn't work, as the site counts it as italic text.

@ShogunRok I'm just a bit spoiled by the awesome story modes in the Injustice titles. But you are right though - it's good to have some kind of story mode at all in a fighting game. Also, it's nice to hear The Witcher's voice again. ^^

I think I like Street Fighter V's format better for individual character stories, where they had still pictures, but they were drawings of scenes instead of RPG-style character portraits!
