The team behind the Yakuza series is certainly keeping itself busy these days, with what seems like an endless stream of releases in the franchise, as well as the upcoming Western launch of Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise. It seems it won't be taking a break anytime soon, however, as its latest game is to be announced next month.
The head honcho of the Yakuza games, Toshihiro Nagoshi, stated on a SEGA stream earlier today that the team's new game will be announced in September, and most interestingly, it'll be a brand new IP. Reportedly, the game has been in the works for three years, though it's not clear how far along in development it currently is. Whatever this new title turns out to be, we'll get our first look during SEGA's Tokyo Game Show presentation.
What do you think this new game could be? Are you excited to see what Yakuza Studio has been cooking up behind the scenes? Take a wild guess what it's up to in the comments below.
