The wait goes on for hard details on PlayStation 4 firmware update v6.00, but that hasn’t stopped Sony from releasing PS4 firmware update v5.56 in the interim. As you may probably anticipate, this is a bog-standard “system performance” improving patch which doesn’t make any noticeable adjustments at all.
The patch is optional so you can connect to the PlayStation Network without having it installed. It weighs in at 460.1MB, and you can find out how to download install it in Rest Mode through the link.

I know they’re optional but I’d never not download. I’m not sure why people wouldn’t. I’m sure they’re tested enough to not brick the PS4

WOW! The lag in the system menu and store is gone and I've yet to get an error code today which is a first since I got my PS4 about 4 months ago!

Update didn't seem optional for me, but maybe I just misunderstood the system message.
So I updated but I'm getting an error. Idk if it's just me or nor, but anything I do I get an error occurred (SU-30697-5)
