The latest trailer for SoulCalibur VI reveals a lot about its second story mode, which is titled 'Libra of Soul'. In it, you'll play as your own custom-made character, created with what looks like quite an extensive character creation system. You'll travel across a map, meet the heroes and villains of the game, and take on fights of varying difficulty, following an original tale about evil swords and all that.
Just to be clear, you did read that right. Libra of Soul will be the game's second story mode, the first featuring an episodic series of fights for each character.
Bandai Namco also confirms that custom characters will be usable throughout the game, both online and offline.

@Sarfa Yeah, definitely sounds promising. Seems to have a lot in common with SoulCalibur II's big story mode, which was much loved by fans.
I didn't much care about this game until now, since like Sarfa, I was really let down by IV and V's lack of any real content. II and III had the most content and felt like they were really trying. Now I'm actually kind of interested.
It's a shame because IV and V had really robust character customization but squandered it by giving you next to nothing to actually do with those characters.
Reminds me a lot of what Soul Caliburs 3 offered, which is great.
I'm impressed, can't wait to see more. Might purchase.
Can we just have Weapon Master Mode back...pretty please?
WHOA this trailer was also damn impressive.
LOVED the second game.IV seemed really bare bones and never played III & V. I'll definitely pick this up when the price drops, anyone know if V is worth picking up?
