Those of you who backed Shenmue III on Kickstarter should receive a survey soon, allowing you to select your t-shirt size and share other details depending upon the tier you chose. And to celebrate that news, developer Ys Net has released a cute little clip starring one of the title’s characters: Rin. It’s obviously not representative of the final product because the scene won’t even be in the game, but it looks better than anything we’ve seen to date, which is reassuring. There’s even a brief cameo from travel ticket cannibal Chai if you look closely.

Don’t panic if you haven’t received your survey yet: it should come soon. You’ll have until 30th September to fill in all of the details, at which point Yu Suzuki and crew will move into the final phase of development ahead of launch next year. It’s getting closer, folks – but at least we have the remasters to look forward to in the interim.

Hopefully a release date for the remasters will be forthcoming.
Hmmm... as someone who hasn’t played Shenmue before but is relatively excited to try them, I’m a little scared. Is the little girl supposed to look like she is woodenly staring into my soul?
Still not sure if these games have anything for me but that video was kind of cute. I sincerely hope they get the game together and it's well-received, whether I'm interested or not.
@adf86 looks like microsoft just leaked it for 21 August - https://www.dualshockers.com/shenmue-ii-hd-remaster-release-date-announced
You guys sure they aren't developing the new Silent Hill?
@Rob_230 Wow, Aug 21st! That’s a surprise. The lack of information had me thinking they would be coming next year. A release in lesss than two months is great news. Of course, that’s pretty close to Sept 7th (Spider-Man), so if true, I might not jump in on Day 1.
Reminds me of Teletubbies.
well thats one of the most creepy and disturbing things i have ever seen!
it looks better but it still looks stiff
Phoo, the facial animations are not getting better.
That child looks terrifying...
I think it's good that they're keeping Shenmue III on a graphical par with the first two so you can play them all back to back without it looking weird. Consistency.
