A lot of people feel E3 2018 was a bad show for PlayStation, but Sony swept the Game Critics awards with a whopping six commendations – two more than the next nearest publisher. The multiformat Resident Evil 2 was the surprise recipient of the Best of Show award, but a bunch of PS4 exclusives cleaned up elsewhere. Dreams, for example, took home Best Original Game; Spider-Man swung away with Best Console Game and Best Action Adventure Game; The Last of Us: Part II received a Special Commendation for visuals and sound, while Ghost of Tsushima took home a graphics gong, too.
Elsewhere, the wonderful Tetris Effect won the Best Virtual Reality Game award, as ANTHEM took Best Action Game and Kingdom Hearts III unlocked Best Role-Playing Game. FIFA 19 lifted the Best Sports Game trophy, while Overcooked 2 brewed up Best Family Game.
We’ve included all of the winners below, but this will make very pleasing reading for Sony – especially in the face of all the criticism it’s come under since the big Los Angeles show last month.

Yayaya, Resident Evil 2 remake won E3 best show.. it is number one for most anticipated games in 2019 beside Days Gone, TLOU 2

@Tsurii I agree with you that it was a poor conference but you’ve got to have perspective. Okay, so the show wasn’t as good as we hoped, but clearly the content was still good.
So it’s like... Get a grip and quit overreacting. Criticise the structure of the presser, but let’s not go completely overboard.

I like seeing surprises at E3, this was one of the worst for surprises.

The show is bad, but the game is good, that's what most people think on sony e3 game shows. I don't know why sony didn't use their e3 2016 shows as a template for future shows.

I want to play resident evil 2 also but I'm not overcome by it. For me It wasn't the best game at E3 for some miles. I'm telling two mates about it now and they both don't have an interest in resident evil 2. TLOU2 is their best game of E3 and probably mine also. Never take much notice of awards anyway.

Resident Evil 2 definitely had my vote. Objectively speaking, there's probably several games from this past E3 that will be better but I don't think I'll enjoy a game in 2019 more than I will RE 2 remake based on what I know so far.
As for Sony's showing. Nobody said Sony didn't have games, people did say the press conference was bad, especially in comparison to MS' conference, and it was. I'm also seeing Sony do things that has me less than confident as we head towards PS5.
for me, it's not a matter of winning or losing... i think of PlayStation and Xbox as different kinds of entities, and it's evident that each company has a unique way (strategy) of running business. i understand the media tihs and all, but really tho?
