At a point, games stopped being edgy, but back in the PlayStation 2 days it was a very real thing. Like, once upon a time they turned the Prince of Persia into this emo action adventure thing, only stopping short of equipping the eponymous protagonist with an Enter Shikari shirt. Those of you who still think Gerard Way is some kind of flesh-based god may be exited to learn about Devil’s Hunt, though, a new third-person game where you fight demons with an arm that’s on fire.
“The war between Demons and Angels takes you to hell and back in this third-person action game,” the press release reads. “You are Desmond, the one man with demonic powers who can decide the fate of our world by joining either side of the conflict.”
Desmond? Really? You’re going to make a game about angels and demons and you’re going to call your protagonist Desmond? Well, okay then. The game’s due out in 2019. In the meantime, let’s try and come up with a better name for the main character in the comments section below.

On the topic of incredibly, stupidly edgy game, do you remember when SEGA thought it would be a good idea not only to make a game starring Shadow the Edgelord, but also to give him guns (and a bike, IIRC)? 😂

Yeah the edgelord thing really was a real thing on PS2. I watched some of my favorite Sega franchises fall victim to this trend. Beast Rider, Altered Beast, SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG.... I rest my case here. I never thought I'd see the day a character in a Sonic game would be using guns and saying "damn", but it happened.
When I saw the thumbnail though, I thought maybe Prototype 3 by some miracle had happened.

So many names to choose from that can sound cool. Zane, Raphael, Siegfried, Vincent, Ezekiel, Leonardo, etc. But nope, Desmond. It still sounds like a cool concept though.

What does edgy even mean?
A guy who chews on his fingernails, wears crusty clothes, walks a bit to close to you, always puts his glass next to yours in a pub, peers at you with wary, narrow eyes, scrapes his heels as he walks, sticks close to the walls and shop windows as he walks along hunched up against non-existent rain, rarely looks up, pays with wrinkled up notes?
