Now that's a bit more like it, Bungie. The developer finally seems to understand how Exotic gear should be handled, as this small showcase of items heading to Destiny 2: Forsaken has got us relatively excited to find some of this stuff and put it to use.
For too long, it's felt like Exotic equipment in Destiny isn't all that... Exotic. Most Exotics don't really offer anything especially unique or especially fun, and we suppose the latter is the key word here. The Exotics on display in the above trailer actually look like great fun to play around with. You've got reflective greaves, electric arrow storms -- all good stuff.
Now let's just hope that the rest of September's expansion ends up being equally entertaining.

When I started dismantling 99.9% of the loot I picked up I stopped caring and stopped playing. Once the loot chase ends the game loses its appeal. For me at least...
@Splat I was very much the same. I'd spend hours grinding out Strikes and other stuff, and then I'd get absolutely nothing of worth from the engrams. Not exactly rewarding. Once you've got the gear you want it's kinda pointless.
Hopefully these updates and Forsaken shake things up enough. Random rolls and all that stuff should help.
It all looks great, but somewhere along the line I have to take a step back and look at how many truly mind-boggling f*** ups they've made with this franchise, and my wallet goes back into my pocket.
Yeah, looks cool, but in my case it's too little, too late. I loved Destiny 1 for a significant time and enjoyed Destiny 2 for some time as well...but as you guys said, the grind got pointless.
Plus, considering the underwhelming two expansions so far, I have little faith in Forsaken...not the least because of the ridiculous price...and the fact that Destiny 2 is basically a reskinned Destiny 1. All those millions of dollars, a sequel and two expansions and Bungie didn't even manage at least one genuinely new enemy type? Just reskinned enemies from D1?
Nah, I'll pass on Forsaken for now. Maybe I'll get the super complete edition in 2 years or so to see what I might have missed...but I'll be damned if I'll ever again pay full price for anything Destiny.
Sorry for the rant.
I agree with a lot of you guys. Played hundreds of hours of D1 and have barely played D2 at all. Getting on for an hour or 2 and getting absolutely nothing of value to progress my character forward gets old really quickly. I preordered the expansion pass and haven't even been motivated to load up and play the 2nd dlc. Bungie really bungled D2 and soured me on the franchise. If Forsaken is on par or better than taken king I may come back but doubt it at this point.
This looks good and promising but that's mainly because Bungie need it to sell. If it was a free update, guaranteed they would've only put half the effort into it. There are three versions that cost $40, $70 and $80 respectively.
@redd214 the first dlc was very bland but I'm really liking the grindy weapon quests upon completing the warmind one. It really feels quite good round about now.
Yeah it hard to get aboard for this after all the shady stuff Bungie have done and the amount of things they messed up in 2. There is still no details of a Destiny 2 full edition with Forsaken wonder if they could do the unthinkable and give 2 and the expansions away on PS plus next month maybe a way to get people back in for forsaken.
Played D1 lot more than D2 think for 2 I played for about 3 weeks and that was it because there was nothing left to do, I really should have known to be honest how lacking it has of content. Because the way it sort of makes you play your other characters just to finish the story and unlock the tower etc. The expansions I haven't bought because from previous D1 and me buying it's SP it was lacking until The Taken King. And Forsaken will be The Taken King its ironic it also have Nolan North lending his voice again for Caden
