The Walking Dead Ushers the Beginning of the End on 14th August

Here we are then: the beginning of the end for Clementine and Telltale’s take on The Walking Dead. The developer has attached a 14th August release date to the latest season of the fan favourite franchise, with pre-orders scheduled to open on 8th June. Purchase on the PlayStation Store, and you’ll get free access to The Walking Dead: The Telltale Collection, which is one helluva deal, as you’ll get everything prior to A New Frontier.

Judging by this first trailer, the developer’s put a lot of work into improving its engine, as the facial animations are above and beyond anything we’ve seen from its previous work. More importantly, it seems like Clementine’s story will end where it started, except with her in the parental position this time. It’s been quite special to see this character develop over the past five or six years, so we’re excited – but also a little worried – to see where her story ends.

I played the first episode of A New Frontier but it didn't really inspire me to buy the rest. I'm sure I'll enjoy the full season from PS Plus one day.

I used to buy Telltale games at the start and play each episode as and when it came out. Since Game of Thrones though I've changed and only purchase them once the full series is out. I think it adds so much more to be able to play each episode shortly after each other. I had a great weekend with Batman: The Enemy Within recently - with everything being fresh in the mind it just meant it had much more of an impact on me.

@Alfieburns Yeah, since the first, I've waited as well. It's like series on Netflix... better to binge in one go, as it ensures everything is fresh in the mind.

Though to be honest, I also wait until they're in a sale a few months later, too. I do enjoy them, but I personally find the initial asking price to be a little expensive for what they provide.

The animation does look good. Hopefully Telltale are coming out of all their turmoil.

I wish the trophies lists for TWD and other games actually merged together it's annoying when they are all over the place and especially since this game gave you a platinum trophy for season 1 and the others seasons are seperate

The collection does include A New Frontier, yeah. That's a pretty incredible deal, really.

Essentially you're getting the best versions of the entire series for $20.

i hope clementine gets the send off she deserves, but i'll probably wait til the entire series is available before getting it. the 1-2 hour chunks every couple of months (inconsistently too) just doesn't work for me.
