The Last of Us Part II PS4 PlayStation 4 1

Wow! In a showcase packed with promising PlayStation 4 exclusives, Naughty Dog once again rose to the challenge with a demo of The Last of Us: Part II that delivered on every level. We start out at some kind of prom, where a 19-year-old Ellie is living a normal life with her girlfriend. It’s typical stuff from the developer: subtle, beautiful, and unlike anything you’ve seen in a video game before.

Then the figurative of course hits the fan. The next time we see Ellie she’s thrust back into her harsh surroundings, where she must survive. The gameplay is tense and very dynamic; it’s unclear how much is scripted in the demo, but it feels like the game is going to give you the creative potential to get out of any skirmish any way you like. It’s tense stuff.

Naughty Dog continues to raise the bar, and while there’s no date attached to The Last of Us: Part II yet, it’s looking like it’s going to live up to the developer’s outrageous legacy.
