Devil May Cry 5, announced overnight, is built using Resident Evil 7’s technology. The game runs at 60 frames-per-second, and is leveraging the RE Engine for more convincing character models and photo realistic environments. In a tweet, Capcom said that the long-awaited sequel “features intense action, amazing graphics you will mistake for real life, and the fastest gameplay in the series to date”.

Of course, fans will know that Devil May Cry is intrinsically linked to the Resident Evil franchise, as the original game started life as Resident Evil 4 before becoming its own thing. We really like the RE Engine, so we’re excited to see what the DMC team can do with it.
