The Korean Ratings Board has, once again, rated a PS4 game that has yet to be announced. This time, it's Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition, presumably a remaster of the original game in Gearbox's popular shooter series.
We already have Borderlands: The Handsome Collection on PS4, which includes Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, but it seems that the first title is on its way to complete the set. As we've mentioned, publisher Take-Two hasn't formally announced anything, but we imagine that will come soon enough. Perhaps it'll surface at the same time Borderlands 3 is finally unveiled? E3 is right around the corner, after all.
Would you like to play the original Borderlands again on PS4? Let us know in the comments below.

I wouldn't mind taking another crack at this game if it came to ps4 hopefully they also fix the bugs this one had
Played tales of the borderlands when it came out on plus and liked the world/setting. I'll keep an eye out.
Edit: there's a gag from the tell tale game in there somewhere.....
About time, I could maybe be tempted to play through again if the price is right...
Surprising, I liked Borderlands quite a bit. I rarely get into FPS, but the Borderlands concept is so addictive due to the gazillions of guns it has. Shooting can be so satisfying when you find that great legendary weapon. However, I wouldn’t play it again. Rather just wait for Borderlands 3.
I never played the first game, that's my chance I guess. Would you guys recommend as a single-player experience?
I’m pretty much done buying remasters at this point & I already own the Handsome collection, so I’ll be skipping this.
Suprised it took them this long, but I’m just going to hold out for Borderlands 3 now.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was a bonus, part of the Season Pass or included with Borderlands 3 with a 'standalone' digital release available too - similar to Far Cry 5 and Far Cry 3.
As good as it was, its not aged well - especially if you have played the Handsome Collection. I am not referring to visuals which, given the artstyle, doesn't make much of a difference whether its 720p or 1080p, I am referring to game-play and structure - most of which were improved with the later games.
I certainly wouldn't buy again as I can play it via BC on XB1 anyway but even if that wasn't an option, I would rather wait and buy Borderlands 3 - but I wouldn't say no to a copy if it is included as a bonus or part of the Season Pass...
Have to agree with @BAMozzy here, picked up the Handsome Jack collection having enjoyed the first two games in the last generation and as good as the game is, it has aged badly.
The gunplay mechanics are and always will be fine, but the constant busy work and fetch quests are quite a chore after a while, but i guess thats just how these things go, rose tinted nostagia doesnt always live up to the memory .
Still as much as this sounds like me putting it down, for those who have never had the pleasure, i'm sure there will be plenty of enjoyment from the experience, but to be honest, as others have said, give me Borderlands 3, with some remodernisation and i'll be happy.
Either way, dont bugger it up GearBox!
Borderlands especially two was enjoyable but I had no desire to return to it cos it all felt like a chore, then Tales from the Borderlands showed up the rest of it by being more story and character driven. Plus I've taken quite a dislike in Gearbox in recent times anyway.
Platted both 1 and 2 on PS3 and I have been playing 2 again on PS4, but I won't be getting this think I've had enough of the first games. Heck I got it on Steam for like £3 a few years back and 2 for like £4 no.1 doesn't play very well in PC either no matter what settings I do for my high end GPU i still get screen tearing while turning around. 2 plays like a dream though but I agree the games are boring after you've played them a lot worth playing if you haven't.
My gripe is this should have even in the handsome collection and if it's because they couldn't get it remastered or it just didn't look right. Then why sell it now sounds like a con to get money to help fund back some of BL3 costs
@PS_Nation I played 90% of the first game solo. Co-op is where it shines, if you have friends, but I quite enjoyed it by myself as well. The game scales the enemies (and loot) if I recall so that they are a bit harder (and drop better stuff) when playing co-op vs. when playing solo, so it is perfectly playable and beatable without help.
So yes, it’s still good fun as a single player experience.
@PS_Nation I honestly feel the first game falls really flat, especially in single player. I thought 2 was way superior in every way.
@dellyrascal I agree. I've always loved Borderlands, but I've never finished one because the quests just started getting too tedious, and the enemies just became spongier.
Yikes, hopefully they updated it with some of the quality of life improvements from the last 2. I mean I love the series and put hundreds of hours into the original but it is a bit rough in today's world.
Wake me when Borderlands 3 comes out.
Yeah, they should include it with 3. It won't gather much interest if there are indeed plans for the 3rd soon.
As much as I liked the first Borderlands, it's hard to go back to it after playing the second one.
@PS_Nation it's definitely fine to play solo but as others have said the sequel was a massive step forward over this, having said that I've always felt that the playable characters were much better in the original
Play again on PS4? Definitely if it is on the disc with BL3.
The base game and General Knoxx dlc is definitley worth playing for any first timers. Especially if they liked BL2 and or the Pre Sequel. I enjoyed my hundreds of hours and multiple play throughs of BL1.
I share the opinion that BL1 is the best in the series for weapons. Almost all of the best weapons in BL1 can be found in loot crates and vending machines.
I feel like we just don’t need this remastered. The handsome jack collection should have included it if it was going to happen, and now it’s just a game that doesn’t need one. I’m not one to complain about remastered much, but this is overkill.
.... it has obviously become quite transparent for those whom are in the awesome lists.... that Borderlansd might be requireing some form of prequel at this sage - mayhaps to observe some doirty littel tricks that the company has ....'....allegedly.....' been up to in terraforming and what not....this is prior obviosuly to when the suits are going to want an reboot of the game in a full 3D spatial Unity or Unreal Engine 4 environemnt... hey i dont make the procedures or protocols... i just try to swing around with them.... on a colony planet..... aahhhhhh
@Th3solution @ztpayne7 @carlos82 I appreciate the replies, thanks.
I enjoyed the first game somewhat when it was on PS3, but i doubt I'll be in the mood to replay it for a long while.
Still, great to know the entire series is now on PS4...I may eventually pick it up when it's on sale.
