Jeez, another God of War patch? You better believe it. This latest one comes in at around 64MB, and yet again, the patch notes are straight to the point: "various bug fixes and improvements". That's three in a row now.
As always, we don't know what these bug fixes and improvements actually are, but we suppose we're grateful that Sony Santa Monica is supporting its game so readily. Here's hoping that we hear more about the promised photo mode patch soon.

I'm not sure I'm a fan of all this hot fixing. The game didn't really have any severe bugs or issues (not that I encountered) so I'm not sure why they're patching this like a multiplayer game.
The funny thing is that I haven't run into any problems so I'm not sure what they're fixing? O well all of them have been small patches.
Outstanding game by the way...
Must be a hidden multiplayer mode I am not aware of. All these daily patches. Each time I think it's finally the photomode.
Wow this is getting patched everyday it seems. Have people been seeing a lot of bugs? Outside of crashing the first time I booted up I have encountered anything not even minor glitches
realy hope it's NOT a MP mode.
only thing i can think of is that they doing all these "fixes" (nothing needs fixing) to prepare for the photomode.
@redd214 I didn't have any issues with it really.
@get2sammyb Kratos seems to be taking a leaf outta DJ Khaled's book. I saw the game on disc last weekend in the game store and was very tempted to take the plunge. Then I thought that I'd wait until after the Photo Mode debuted and whatever associated patches for the game were released. Even though much of the community hasn't had any problems with the game, I'm kinda glad I waited. Those constant patches would get annoying.
But what about our servicemen on submarines in the middle of the North Sea? How are they supposed to update? I remember when a complete game was delivered on the disc day one. Absolutely disgusting abuse of consumers basic rights.
@NintendoFan4Lyf Must have missed that one.
The ONLY issues I encountered were some rare frame rate drops when transitioning from cut-scene to player control. The 'few' I encountered were generally just minor although 1 was more severe and looked very juddery - these only lasted a few seconds at most and never affected the game-play - its not like you were surrounded by enemies.
The only thing I can think is that there maybe very small 'bugs/glitches' that few people have experienced and reported.
is there any chance that all these fixes is due to them preparing or testing a pontential story expansion? would be nice to have it,like they did with horizon zero dawn.
I've not seen one bug in the entirety of my play through so far, and at this rate, I never will.
They need to start an exterminator business with all the bugs that they're eliminating. Though I have only encountered one minor glitch when a wooden box top became attached to Kratos' neck after he smashed it with his axe. But it fell off shortly after.
@get2sammyb "so I'm not sure why they're patching this"
To support my argument I was making last week.

I have to say, the comments in this thread seem much more in line with me - nothing is done day 1 anymore, too many patches - then all the people arguing with me then.
Heck even you're starting to agree with me and I know you hate when that happens.
"I'm not sure I'm a fan of all this hot fixing"
@get2sammyb i have not been aware of a single bug or glitch on my playthroigh thus far. But if there are bugs that they are aware of, sure, let them do micro hot fixes instead of one big update that could break other parts of the game i.e Destiny. The game is already perfect and polished, but let them keep spit shining it to keep it in glorious shimmering shape.
I'm about 10 hours into this game - I think as there's no log ANYWHERE, not in game, not in the save file, nowhere, they really need to update that into the game somehow - and I haven't found anything I'd call a bug or a glitch but there were a couple of things I noticed they may want to address. Or not, not a big deal.
OK, how to write this w/o spoilers -
One minor bad guy dropped a health where he died on a few rocks. I stood right there and couldn't get the X prompt to come all the way up. That white line of light would show up but it wouldn't continue through to the X. Actually that might be a bug or a glitch. I needed it too.
I noticed an area of seaweed, about a 4' square, hovering about a foot over some rocks. Not a deal breaker by any means, but it looked really funny considering how impeccable the rest of the game has looked.
I'm guessing these daily bug fixes are probably stuff like that, something they come across on twitter or in their own game plays. I'm liking this game enough I could easily see people playing through it twice or more, and they may notice more stuff the 2nd time around as they already have seen it before.
I'm glad I didn't wait though, too enjoyable.
I’m about 18 hours in so far and I’ve yet to come across any bugs. But glad SSM are improving the experience for all players.
I've had one major issue with the game. Under Freya's house in the cave. There is a sand bowl. When i press square to get Atreus to read the runes, he just stands there and won't move. He refuses to jump onto the movable block so i can obtain the two chests. A game breaking bug for a completionist. Edit: Just tried again after patch 1.15 and still to no avail. Please fix this @Santa monica studios.
Off topic but when can you freely fast travel? I have found a ton of the blue doors but can still only fast travel to shops?
@Splat I didn't think you could. I thought when you met Barok he said it's a 1 way ticket. Thought you had to travel to where you want to go but can only fast travel back to his shop, unless it opens up later that's how I perceived it. When I go to a warp door and the map opens up all doors are locked out apart from the shop.
I once got stuck between a crevase and the boy. He just stood there while I was wiggling away. He eventually moved but they could be fixing small stuff like that etc
Are we seriously complaining about games getting minor bug fixing updates now. Would people prefer it if they just left it alone?
@rjejr And yet you bought it anyway
@Splat You eventually get there. It's a little later in the game.
@adf86 "And yet you bought it anyway"
Yup, glad I did. I was always on the fence. I'm always on the fence, I usually let circumstances decide. The circumstances were favorable this time. No season pass. If anybody asks I rewarded the company for releasing a game w/o a day 1 $20 - $30 season pass. If it had 1 I wouldn't have purchased it. And sammy's constant mention of spoilers. I've played all the other GoW games and story wasn't their strong point, just an excuse for destroying stuff. I felt like I needed to play this one sooner rather than later, seems like there's a story in there w/ some twists and turns. If this was simply GoW 5, 8 hours of destruction, I would have waited as well.
These daily patches are more of a meme generator than a problem at this point. And I dont' care too much about photo mode, I've been taking pics just fine as is. And if they add in multiplayer that's fine too, I won't play that anyway.
So not all games, or day 1 games, are alike. They can patch away, the base game seems good enough as is.
@Splat You can fast travel anywhere once you progress far enough.
New game+ when though?
Great to see they fix all those minor issues so quickly. Love it!
pity other developers dont dont patch the bugs as quick if at all so a1 to them konami update weekly
@LaNooch1978 Don't they kinda sorta keep track of enemies killed in that book? I know most have 3 levels of trophy, like 15, 25, 50, killed for bronze, silver, gold, and the top of the page tells you how many? I know there is a bunch of stuff like that. Not as simple as a Stat page - I'd really like to see how many times I've died in my 10 hours, I think 8 - but there is some stuff in there if you scroll through everything.
I wish there was a play log. I have no idea how long I've played this game. I need to beat lightning mountain dragon....spoilers
I only noticed 2 things that have been fixed since the original version. One is that the game crashed my whole PS4 when I tried to come back from stand by.
Another is an animation where Kratos grabs a humanoid enemy, smashes him down and squashed his head with his foot. In the first versions, the head and foot placements were off and it looked strange why the head would explode. Now the foot is really on the head and destroying it.
But that’s it. I hope they slowly stop with this fixing. I sometimes just want to play.
@adf86 yeah i dont understand the sentiment here at all, its not like your forced to update ie cant play if you dont
They still haven't fixed this rare glitch when Kratos dies, but the game doesn't register his death, so you're stuck watching Kratos' corpse falling over and over again.
Kratos: "pay no attention to updates, That does not concern you BOI!"
I have had zero issues, what ever they are its minor fixes. Great job!!
@LaNooch1978 "the itty bitty text size"
Yeah, put the slider up to 10, my wife din't even notice, she's given up trying to read it. I did notice a difference though. But if somebody asked me I wouldn't say it got bigger, just clearer. Like in the eye doctor chair with those glasses on your eyes where he would say "Better at 1? 2? 1? 2?". Sorry, if you've never experienced that there's no way I can explain it. But the important thing is I can read it now, which helps.
I did find the kill numbers last night, under Goals, all the way to the right, and all the way at the bottom. Somewhere around there, that's nto exact.
I've hardly spent any time at all in rage mode, even when it's full I'm so busy button mashing I forget to use it sometimes. Couple of boss battles, thats' about it. Oh and a couple of Viken, I hate them. Maybe I should try it on that guy who 1 hits me even with my shield up when he comes out of the rift? I've decided to leave him in there for now.
Never even thought about stats for the particulars. I know Uncharted has them but I never pay attention beyond creatures killed. How has never concerned me. Even in Horizon I've just skipped the weapon tutorials, stupid missions. And the hunting grounds, don't much like those things either.
Hopefully you'll get a stat page, it could come. I'm still waiting on a time played. Doesn't have to be time in rage, time on a boat, time in each region, just time played. Can't believe it's not even in the save file, I thought that was an industry standard.
Update 1.17 fixed the Issue of Atreus not reading the runes and refusing to jump onto the block near the sand bowl under Freya's house. Fantastic job Santa monica studios.
