PixelJunk Monsters 2, the sequel to the legendary PlayStation 3 tower defence title, is dancing to the PlayStation 4 from 25th May. Q-Games announced the sequel – which will adopt a kind of claymation visual style – at the Game Developers Conference today, with more to be shown as part of a Spike Chunsoft stream this evening.
The title will run at 60 frames-per-second on the PS4, but there’s no word just yet on any 4K enhancements for the PS4 Pro – it certainly looks like it would benefit from the cleanest image quality possible. There’ll be two-player local co-op, as well as four-player online co-op. And yeah, it just looks delightful, doesn’t it? Sold.

I can't wait to play this. I love PixelJunk Monsters.
Yes!!!
Instant preorder for me. There aren't many games from the previous gen that I got more enjoyment out of than the original.
Memories. Love this game
Bought the original and encore and loved both.
$14.99 according to 1 article I read. That seems pretty good to me, so many PSN games releasing at $19.99 these days.
May get this one of Switch for the 2 player local co-op on the go. But since this is a Sony site I'll add - 60fps roxxz, 30fps blozz
Excellent. Absolutely loved it and played it on several devices. Wish it'd also come out on psvita since it's more fun (for me) to play tower defense games on a handheld.
great news loved most of Q-games work
Super happy to see this announced, and so soon! I was worried that the Tomorrow Children had killed this dev. Day 1 buy.
This is truly great news. My wife and I enjoyed part 1 and encore on our handhelds for countless of hours and both of us can't wait to dive into part 2. May 25th can't come soon enough! Day one for sure!!
...Deathtrap - Tikiman styleee! I'm in (as long as it's designed for single player and not co-op!)
