Anticipated first person role-playing title Kingdom Come: Deliverance is out on PlayStation 4 next week, but before you get too excited, it's worth noting that the game reportedly has a huge day one patch that you'll have to download before you can get properly stuck in.
According to Gadgets 360, who obtained an early copy, the update weighs in at around a whopping 23GB. The base game itself is apparently another 23GB, so this day one patch essentially doubles the total file size to 46GB.
What do you make of day one patches? Is this too big? Stick your PS4 in rest mode then head down to the comments section below.

Wow this is UNSAT.... somebody trying to make a deadline. This business practice is getting old. Please release full finished games.
I am not bothered by large day 1 patches. I am a bit concerned that i havent seen any North American coverage of this title other than super high level. Will keep an eye out still
I am really really rooting for this game to do well, i really am. I really hope its the next skyrim or at least close to it. It looks very ambitious, as much as i wanna get it day 1 ill have to wait a couple months for bugs to get fixed. Unfortunately With a day one patch this huge looks like game still unfinished and they'll probably work on it as they go
That’s a pretty large patch. This poor game didn’t need anything further to go against it. we haven’t heard much buzz about it and I fear it may bomb. I’m on the fence about it, and although a large patch isn’t a deal breaker, it does give me pause as to whether the game is finished properly or not.
This is a big open world game and it needs as much polish as possible, just like every other title of that scale (let's not forget games like Skyrim and Witcher 3 had their share of issues) so I'm okay with it. I know it sucks for those with bad Internet connection though.
it's not surprising anymore. same happened with everybody's golf (from 10 GB on disc to 20 GB) and inpatient (also from 10 to 20 GB)
@ShogunRok Is Push Square doing a review?
I’m not expecting this game to be perfect on release (never do), and some of my most favourite to release have been buggy on launch.
I’m expecting jank, but it’ll be good I’m sure.
Always a bummer when you pick a game up and have to sit through a backlogged server to download a massive patch, but that being said, I'd rather have a warning and plan ahead.
Plus, better a massive day one patch than waiting for a few weeks and playing through a bunch of problems.
I'm rooting for this game
@Th3solution Yes, if all goes to plan, although we likely won't have a full review for launch.
Day One hundred, maybe...
@Eternallover21 Hopefully, yes. If we can't get the full review finished in time for launch (likely) then we'll be looking to put up a "hands on" article that goes over all of our initial impressions.
@ShogunRok "we likely won't have a full review for launch"
Well, that's to be expected when you first have to download a 'patch' this ridiculous.
I'm hoping this game does well, not alot of coverage so trying to keep my expectations low.
I have high expectations for this one. I hope it doesn't fail to deliver.
