How to Unlock Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta Dragon Ball FighterZ

How do you unlock Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta in Dragon Ball FighterZ? It's a question that many players are going to ask after booting the game up, so here's a quick guide on how to get the title's two blue buddies.

There are three methods of unlocking Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta:

Pre-order the game

Well, this one's pretty self-explanatory. If you pre-ordered Dragon Ball FighterZ, you should have a code that unlocks both Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta early.

If you didn't pre-order the release, you've got two other, in-game options. We've detailed both below.

Prove your might in Arcade Mode

Assuming that you have the skills, the fastest way to unlock Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta is to hit up Arcade Mode. Here, you'll have to first unlock the hard mode of each course. You can do this by beating the three original courses.

Once you've unlocked the hard modes, you'll have to complete the Extreme Gravity Spaceship course on hard with an A rank or higher to get Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta.

To unlock Super Saiyan Blue Goku, you need to complete the Hyperbolic Time Chamber course on hard, also with an A rank or higher.

This sounds straightforward on paper, but it can be very difficult in practice. The hard courses feature some brutal computer controlled opponents, and you'll need to get high scores in each fight to get an A rank or higher. In Arcade Mode, the better that you do, the harder your opponents become, so you'd best be prepared for a stiff challenge.

If Arcade Mode proves too difficult, then there's one other way to unlock the hidden Super Saiyan Blue characters.

Earn a huge amount of Zeni

The final way to unlock Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta is to simply spend a lot of time playing the game. Dragon Ball FighterZ dishes out Zeni (its in-game currency) as you fight. You can earn Zeni in Story Mode, Arcade Mode, and even Versus Mode. However, it's worth mentioning that tournament fights do not give you Zeni.

Once you reach a certain amount of total Zeni, you'll unlock the Super Saiyan Blue characters. You'll need to earn 300,000 Zeni to unlock Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta, and you'll need to earn 500,000 Zeni to unlock Super Saiyan Blue Goku.

If that seems like a lot of Zeni, that's because it is. It's going to take any player a long time to earn that much Zeni, so patience is required.

It should be noted that you don't have to actually save up the required amounts. You can spend Zeni on capsules as you wish -- the 300,000 and 500,000 thresholds only apply to your total earnings across the whole game.
