THQ Nordic isn't done announcing new projects just yet. The latest game the publisher has revealed is a console release of Rad Rodgers, a Kickstarted platformer featuring the titular young boy and his cursing robot companion. The game launches on PS4 21st February.
The game is a 2D platformer with shooter elements set in what appears to be a very cutesy world, but curiously, is filled with swearing. The closest parallel we can draw is to Rare's Conker games, in terms of tone, although it's too early to say whether Rad Rodgers will measure up in terms of witty writing.
Take a look at the trailer, then come back and tell us what you think in the comments below. Just watch your language.

Looks like it is trying too hard for sure. The gameplay itself looks pretty standard for a "retro inspired" indie game. I agree that I might have found the humor appealing when I was a teenager in the 90s and early 2000s, but now it just makes me cringe a bit.
Read the article and comments first then watched the trailer with the volume down, actually quite like the look of it
Gameplay looks ok. It’s trying to be funny but it’s not. I’ll probably pass on this.
Im getting this it looks awsome. 😀
I would never buy this unless the X button makes the character swear on demand. Then I probably would.
I used to love a game called Ruff n Tumble on my Amiga back in the day, that character looks like he stepped out of that game except he has now turned into a complete douchebag
@Rudy_Manchego That might not be a far-fetched feature.
The most fun I ever had with a Terminator videogame (I know, I know... not exactly a tough criteria) was in Terminator 3: Redemption on PS2, where L2 was a dedicated "Arnie Catchphrase Button" that spouted a random witticism from a selection of around a dozen. You could literally just wander around every level shouting "I'll be back!" "Talk to the hand!" "You are terminated!" and it never got old.
There were other buttons for shooting, walking, punching, driving, etc. but quite what they were, or a memory of actually using them at any point, escapes me.
Cursing isn't funny or cool. It's just vulgar.
This really seems to be a copy of an indie comic book character called Barry Ween: Boy Genius created by Judd Winick I used to read (Image Comics). The title character is a little 10 year old evil genius kid with a foul mouth and uses big blasters to destroy his enemies and always comes out on top. It's a black and white comic, but the kid also has blonde hair, red t-shirt, and blue pants.
@RedFinch You're right, they look almost identical.
@RogerRoger Ha ha I think I remember that game. I think all games need that.
