As with pretty much every rumour on the internet, take this one with a gain of salt, but if a leaked set of internal emails over at EA are to be believed, A Way Out won't be coming to the PlayStation 4 until 2019.
The leaked memo describes the co-operative experience as "one of the most anticipated games of 2019". It then goes on to discuss possible media opportunities, as well as a road map to release:

It was assumed that A Way Out would release next year in 2018, and so this is a bit of a disappointment if true. Were you excited to check out A Way Out next year? Don't shoot the messenger in the comments below.

The internal email is amazing. I love the caution about the director guy potentially saying something controversial.
With all the EA lootbox malarkey I had actually completely forgotten this game existed.
No idea what this is or whether i should excited. But as its EA and Dead Space isnt on the box, i assume not
@Rob_230 TBF it did look awesome at E3. I recommend looking up the trailer.
Really looking forward to this game! It'd be a shame if we do have to wait that long for it, as it looked super promising at E3.
That'd be a shame I'm looking forward to this one and was under the impression that it was targeting an early 2018 release. Still, if it gives them time to make the game they want then I'm happy to wait.
I’m not surprised it is still over a year away. Hopefully they are scrambling to taken all the microtransactions out of the game due to recent backlash in the industry. (A guy can dream...)
I can wait, but yeah when it comes out, I'm so playing it with my best friend.
Can't wait to see what kind of microtransactions n loot box they'll implement on this one, lol
Its a EA game so i dont really care.
microtransactions files in cake shovels in boxes bribing guards

Why can't I remember this? Or rather why isn't there enough noise about this?
@Punished_Boss_84 I remember there being a lot of buzz the day it was announced, but I guess it just got instantly overshadowed by the E3 noise.
By the title I thought you meant it was Xbox next year and PS4 2019 - so a timed exclusive. By time this comes out we will be almost onto the next gen
Plus they added switch support didn't they - maybe that delayed the release
I suppose any game can be "one of the most anticipated games of [the year]" if you announce it's coming out far enough in the future. >_<
39 awards at EA play.
Wait, what?
Is EA literally just handing out awards to their own games? Games that are nowhere near finished.
Game looks cool but co-op only means watching it on YouTube if I ever care.
