Highly rated throwback collectathon A Hat in Time will chuck its cap towards the PlayStation 4 on 5th December in North America and 6th December in Europe. The whimsical platformer has been a huge hit on PC, topping the Stream charts and garnering some great reviews in the process. With infamous composer Grant Kirkhope on musical duties and gameplay systems that wouldn’t look out of place on the Nintendo 64, the crowd-funded favourite knows exactly what audience it’s coveting.
It’s been a crazy year for the humble platformer, hasn’t it? Yooka-Laylee may not have been amazing, but we’ve also seen the likes of Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy and Sonic Mania on the PS4 alone. A Hat in Time will retail for $29.99 so it won’t exactly be cheap, but it is promising seven worlds and a wealth of secrets, so you should more than get your money’s worth.

it looks good
Awesome! Have only heard good things about this
I'm loving the look of this one
I will wait for a sale. Odyssey has scratched this itch quite nicely. Same with Yooka Laylee.
I'll get this eventually. This game does look to have that special something about it, which was lacking with Yooka Laylee.
I really love 3D platformers, i will try this game soon.
"How's hat?"
Stop it dude, lol.
It's way better than Odyssey.......... Right? #noswitch
In all seriousness: I really need a Push Square for this one. I'm on the fence on this one.
Hats off to the devs for getting it out in a timely fashion.
Looks cute. I've heard good things.
Will wait for a Switch release or a steep sale on PS4.
This was an adorable and fun experience for me on PC. It's not without flaws and I didn't enjoy it enough to 100% it, but it's a solid buy for the money. The primary flaw is that the last stretch of the game feels a bit phoned in and I suspect there was a time constraint of some kind to get the game finished. It also tends to "play it safe" too much by copying from Mario 64 and Sunshine way more than necessary. If there's ever a sequel, I'd like to see the developer push more of their own unique ideas and rely a bit less on past successes.
Since playing it, me and my friends can't stop talking like the Mafia from Hat in Time. "Mafia punch stupid _!". The game is just too much fun.
I'm glad I waited for the console release of the game. I was tempted to buy the PC version.
"With infamous composer Grant Kirkhope on musical duties..." SOLD! Day one!
