Crime drama L.A. Noire will make its grand comeback on the PlayStation 4 next month, and to build a little enthusiasm, publisher Rockstar Games has released a new trailer of the title running in 4K on the PS4 Pro. To be honest, despite the significant bump in resolution, this game is still looking very much like it belongs in the previous generation – it looks a little “flat” in our opinion.
We’re actually fascinated to see how the facial capture holds up, because even at the time the body animations never really matched up with the FMV quality visages. This should make for a really interesting remaster actually, as motion capture has advanced a lot since 2011, and we're really curious to see how well it holds up.

I can't wait to play this again and I never got around to the the dlc so there's some new content for me to play.
I was always really torn on L.A. Noire. On the one hand, its detective work and the stories that go along with it are pretty good, but on the other, the gameplay could often really stumble. I remember the action being terrible in particular, and the way you could fail cases completely but the story would move on definitely felt weird and out of place.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to this. There was definitely something off about the game but I still mostly enjoyed it back on PS3.
Maybe, maybe, maybe... Very likely...
C'mon, Sammy! No talking ill of LA Noire.
I'm getting the ever so slight impression that you're interested in seeing how well facial capture holds up.
Won't be returning to this. Drove me absolutely nuts the first time around. The amount of times your chosen response/enquiry failed to be reflected by what actually occurred afterwards ruined the idea I had any agency over how things progressed. I'd pick an option thinking it seemed easy-going or gently does it etc, only for Phelps to start barking at the POI and completely ruin my plan. Jeez, Cole, I thought we were partners!
I loved the settings and style of play but realy realy disliked Cole. Not gonna try it again.
@ShogunRok LA Noire needs a reboot where you have things like failing a case you go down in the police ranks, you win a case you go up! But like, let it be open ended...not a linear style...like winning a big case and go straight to traffic cases and bull like that!
They should have like 100 cases that are spread between different areas with increasing difficulty and dynamic story!
That's my suggestion
Boring boring boring boring game, all I recall was too much driving and driving and driving and driving around huge empty places.
