Monster Hunter: World got a release date during Sony's Tokyo Game Show 2017 press conference -- the good news is that it applies worldwide. Even better news is that we don't actually have long to wait at all: it launches for PlayStation 4 on the 26th January 2018. That's a little over four months away!
What's more, the beast slaying sim got a glorious new gameplay trailer, which you can watch above, I looks fantastic.

Can't believe it's so close.
I want that PS4 Pro bundle !
Wow! Thought this was at least a year out.
Time to get hyped.
Did they ever show any underwater battle in these trailers?
Whaaat! Awesome news
Sneaky!
Should be out now
@andreoni79 Don't think so, there was a sky coral reef with flying jellyfish.
Okay, this looks like proper single player story mode, hype!
I'm excited. Those monsters all seem quite distinctive and fun and wacky. The flying squirrel furball is especially cute. That sky coral reef looks brilliant so far.
Monster Hunter Worldwide.
@Octane I only played MH3U so I can't say how important are underwater battles for the economy of the series, but I loved them since they added variety.
Glad it's releasing so soon.
I hope it's good.
I was expect March at the earliest, so I'm pretty excited for this. Can't wait to go back to the Monster Hunter universe!
Based on that cutscene right at the end, maybe there's a story?
Looks fantastic. There's nothing quite like Monster Hunter.
When this comes out you guys might not see me around that much.
Edit: Did I just hear cheering?
