SteamWorld Dig 2 has a PlayStation 4 and Vita release date, developer Image & Form has announced. We really enjoyed the first SteamWorld Dig, along with sort-of-spin-off SteamWorld Heist. As such, we're looking forward to getting our pick axe dirty all over again.
The sequel will support cross-buy, so if you nab it on one platform, you'll automatically own it on the other. It launches later this month, on the 26th September, and it'll cost £14.99/$19.99. If we'd known sooner, we'd have definitely added it to our Promising PS4 Games of September article.

Wow. Nintendo only got 5 days exclusivity. That's laughable.
Just bought the first two as a physical bundle. I had already played and finished Dig when it was part of IGC and really enjoyed it. playing heist at the moment while I don't like it quite as much it's still good.
Really hoping Dig 2 will release as a physical copy at some point.
Cross-buy is cool, I hope the game has cross-save too.
The original was pretty decent. Looking forward to playing SWD2 on the Switch. Nice that even the Vita is getting in on the action!
I really enjoyed the first one. I'm a little split on this and Heist. I liked that they did something different with the follow-up (Heist) and I really liked it. But I liked Dig a bit more, so I'm happy they're making a second Dig too! I can't wait to play this!!
So its for sure coming to the Vita? Don't mess with me here.
Vita, you say? Great news!
So happy this is on the Vita. I still have a 20+ game backlog, but I'll be happy to add one more!
I actually enjoyed the first Steamworld Dig wayyy more than I thought.
I'll gladly buy this when it's released.
Image & Form has said this is a MUCH larger game than the original Dig. Given how good that one was, this can only be good news.
