Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman in the Batman: Arkham series of games, has said that there are currently no plans for another Arkham title. The last release that we got from developer Rocksteady was Batman: Arkham Knight, which launched back in 2015.
Now before we put complete faith in Conroy's words, we first need to consider a few things. For starters, we have to question just how much Conroy knows about the production of the games. He's obviously a fantastic voice actor for the Dark Knight, but we doubt that he can speak for the bigwigs at Warner Bros. That said, he may have heard something and he's merely passing that message on. Who can say?
On top of that, in the footage provided by Twitter user @KAOTIC24, it's perhaps a little difficult to determine whether Conroy is actually being serious, or whether he's laying on some thick sarcasm. We like to think that it's the former, but mention of "they made literally billions of dollars on those games, but there's no plan to do another one", may seem a touch sarcastic to some.
Given the success of the series, we could absolutely see Warner Bros. getting someone to pump out another Batman title, regardless of Rocksteady's involvement. But, as always, we'll have to wait and see to know for sure.

but i though Origins was getting a sequel (although now i think about it Conroy wouldn't be involved in that one)
I heard rumours a while back that WB Montreal was making a new "Arkham" style game with Damien Wayne as Batman so Kevin Conroy wouldn't be needed. I just wish WB did a big blu ray release of the animated series.
That's ok, they did 3 (4 if you count Origins) and i think that was plenty. It's time to give another DC superhero a good set of games.
Come on let the other DC Supes get a chance!!!
an Open World Underwater Aquaman game or a Teen Titans game that can be played solo/coop or better yet a Justice League game where you try to save Earth from Darkseid
They have so much characters they could a game out of
I kind of hope Conroy is right.
I'd really like to see Rocksteady tackle something new. My interest in the Arkham games decreased with each one (I never did finish Arkham Knight). I'd imagine working on Batman games solidly for years and years would be a bit of a drain on creativity, as with any well established series.
Interested to see what they do next, either way.
Rocksteady really switched up gaming more than we often acknowledge with their Batman games. Let's see them tackle another type of game please!
Does that mean the so called arkham insurgency doesnt actually exist??
The once rumoured Justice League game would be great. That being said, I'd imagine it'd be a very difficult game for them to make since every hero plays very differently due to their abilities.
or he's just not involved? he wasn't in Origins and the only rumoured games are a sequel to that which I wouldn't imagine he's in and the Damien Wayne game
@Quintumply Rocksteady said when they were making Arkham Knight that they were walking away from the series and it didn't stop WB making Origins.
if be more than happy with more as I'm a fan of the series, even enjoyed Arkham Blackgate on the Vita.
@ironcrow86 it was a WB Montrel game and a sequel to Origins (if the rumours are true) he didn't play Bats in that
I hope this is true. The last two Arkham games, two if you count Origins, weren't all that great no where near as good as Asylum or City. Hopefully they won't do another and run the series into the ground like Assassin's Creed.
@Tasuki don't see how you can compare a Arkham (4 releases in 9 years) to Ass Creed (soon to be 10 in 10 years) in terms of quality of game, even Origins for its short comings was a decent game
@GlynCR Ready my comment again, I wasn't really comparing them. I was saying that now is a good place to stop the Arkham series before they end up like that. Where they just keep pumping out an Arkham game every year and delude the series.
Would be interesting if they made one without Batman himself
@Tasuki I got what you ment but they don't pump out an Arkham game every year and the quality hasn't dipped to the levels that Assassins Creed did by the time there 4th game had landed, for me personally
@daveofduncan i actually wouldn't mind seeing a Birds Of Prey game tbh
That's fine. I want them to try a Superman or JLA game. Batman needs a break.
@RedMageLanakyn Indeed. Where's that rumoured Superman game?
He's said this before.
And he wouldnt know of a new game if it was Roger Craig Smith voicing Batman.
I'm a big fan of the Arkham games (if my username hasn't given that away already) and I'd love to see more games. It doesn't need the Arkham name attached as that story is finished, but I'm not getting my hopes up or anything. I did keep a look out during E3 week though for any news of the rumoured game others have mentioned above.
@Nickolaidas Wasn't there a "leaked" screenshot of a Rocksteady Superman game going around at some point? I know they hinted at Superman in Arkham Knight...or at least thugs acknowledged his existence.
@GlynCR @WanderingBullet for now I think this might be the closest we get:
http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2017/09/11/justice-league-vr-experience-coming-to-home-vr-platforms-this-december/
And blackgate on vita was indeed awesome 😁 didnt deserve the hate it got. Tbh I liked the meteroidvania style. Took me back to the original asylum title, which is the best of the trilogy imo because it was so focussed without the need for an open world.
Still hope we get a proper follow up to arkham vr. Finished it this week. Its just wonderful.
@Rob_230 Arkham Asylum is by far the best imo, it's actually my favourite game, I'd love them to do a more focused location like that again
This is good news if true. They needs to focus more on the other DC Super Heroes, not just Batman.
Personally I'm hoping they focus on Superman next, would be interesting to see them deal with the complete opposite of Batman.
@GlynCR totally agree. Get rid of the batmobile nonsense that was shoehorned into places it didn't need to go
@Rob_230 Cool, unfortunately its based on the live-action version.
I actually liked the inclusion of the Batmobile in Arkham Knight. The problem was that Rocksteady couldn't think of anything else to do with it besides those drone battles which made the game felt repetitive at times.
@GlynCR Right which is now a good time to stop before it comes to that.
Maybe, as others have said, that Conroy himself is not involved or maybe its more 'cryptic' and that Rocksteady have finished the 'Arkham' trilogy (can't count Origins!) and 'could' be working on another 'Batman' game that's not 'Arkham' - Gotham trilogy perhaps?
Personally I liked Arkham Knight and got the 100% completed ending. I know the Batmobile sections were 'weak' but the world was great, the story too. It had some incredible touches - like the way the 'Joker' got into Batmans head and signs, statues etc would change. Driving the Batmobile was still cool and a lot of fun - just a shame its combat was very 'ordinary' and lacked the multitude of options and free-flowing combat that 'Batman' had which I think made it seem 'worse' but just driving it around and jumping in/out - especially boosting out into a glide was cool. It also had a lot of Easter Eggs too so it was great finding/seeing these. I really wouldn't let those Batmobile missions really put you off, the game had a LOT more to offer and the story itself was good too...
I'm usually not interested in games that are based on superheroes or TV series' or whatnot but Arkham games are really good. Only missed the first one. Origins was kinda mediocre but it wasn't a Rocksteady game after all. Arkham Knight was great but I think Batmobile didn't bring much to it unfortunately.
And whereas I'm a fan of bleak visuals, these games tend to be too dark at times. Usually that happens with indie horror titles and not open-world games.
Maybe it would be best to move on but I wouldn't mind another one. Great series.
