Persona 4 got its dancing game, so now Atlus has decided to reanimate the corpse of Persona 3 so that it can join the party alongside Persona 5. The latter was an inevitability, but a rhythm title based on Persona 3, too? Well, okay, we guess.
So here's what's scheduled for 2018 in Japan: Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night, and Persona 5: Dancing Star Night. The two games are coming to both PlayStation 4 and Vita. They've only just been officially announced, so there's no word on any localisation plans yet.
Are you a fan of Dancing All Night? Are you happy that more Persona spin-offs are in the works? Milk your opinions dry in the comments section below.
Update: Atlus has released a teaser trailer for each title:
Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night
Persona 5: Dancing Star Night
Just as stylish as we imagined.

Being a massive dork, I will almost certainly play these games.
And when they inevitably announce Persona 4: Dancing All Night coming to PS4, I'll play that one too.
To be honest, at this point, Atlus could probably scrawl Persona 6 on the belly of a dead dog and I'd likely buy it.
Updated with trailers.
And 3DS gets Persona Q2. With no details whatsoever.
Hooray.
Still big day from Atlus. Now about that SMT game thats now vaporware...
I loved the first one, so I'm really excited for these!
sigh no switch release makes me a sad boy.
As a total fraud who's never played a proper Persona game but is currently addicted to Dancing All Night (I know I'm doing it wrong), I'm actually interested in both of these.
I hope to have played (most of) Persona 5 by the time these come out, though.
Everyone tell @get2sammyb to play Persona 5. He's had a copy since it launched and he's too scared to touch it because he's made a blood pact with PS4 clicker games.
The worst that could happen is he'll play it, hate it, and write an article about it that we'll all disagree with.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS SO HAPPY - not even ashamed. P4 dancing all night is brilliant. I am day one for both games if they are localised. If they are not I will import. Brilliant news
@ShogunRok Figured it was because of his hatred of those f****** weebs more than anything. ;p
@get2sammyb @shogunrok Sammy, get on it and play persona 5 it wil only take you what....120 hours Really recommend you giving it a try and would love to hear your thoughts on it
@Rob_230 @BLP_Software @ShogunRok It's the length of the game that terrifies me. If I could have a month off then I'd be sure to play through it.
Maaaan, do I need someone with a link cable and Dancing Star Night to trade with to get all the songs???
@get2sammyb Haha well it's a good job there is a summer games drought then... Oh wait....
@get2sammyb Id say play Xenoblade X but thats longer than P5...so lets not.
To be fair Sammy has a lot to do @ShogunRok. I havent touched P5 yet either no matter how much my ex boyfriend nags. And I havent touched Horizon no matter how much @Peek-A-Boo nags.
And sorry Sammy. I still dont have Bloodborne but I will eventually and I will live stream it for you:p
@get2sammyb If I can find a way to play Fallout 4 for 500 hours you can play Persona 5. You just have to believe.
@get2sammyb it's LONG and SLOW and beautiful. Play it at your pace Very good point of entry imho.
Mmm I like P3's cast and music a lot so yay? Not sure I'll be able to play these titles, too much stuff to play ;_;
Looking Good Joker!
Sammy if I had the power I would give you that month off, but I don't have that power here. I don't have that power anywhere.
We knew P5 Dancing was coming, but I'm genuinely surprised they actually went back to P3. Will both of these games have pronounced plot elements like P4: DAN?
@get2sammyb Much of the game has a fairly segmented structure, so you can always just stop playing at a certain point and come back to it later.
YESSSS! The Vita still more relevant than the Switch in 2017 !
P5 & P3 are my favourite persona games so I'm OVER THE F'IN MOON!
@Ralizah Yeah, @ShogunRok has mentioned that. It does help with the length issue if it's nicely segmented.
I definitely will play it, but probably not until December now. I like looking at the boxart at least!
I hope atlus make persona 5 arena for ps4 sometimes in the future
How is persona 3 a corpse its been involved in spinoffs as recently as persona q(2014)
@get2sammyb Play Persona 5 you heathen.
If they release special editions with the soundtracks, I will get both - I loved Dancing All Night and still listen to the tracks every now and then.
@get2sammyb Play Persona 5, you're in shame, until you beat it.
Very good. I skipped 4 because Vita so since these are PS4 I will get one to try it.
I havent touched P5 either. Too deep in Splatoon 2 now and by the time I play it enough Mario Odyssey will hit soo... Horizon also sits untouched.
Part of me...What the heck is this?
Part of me...I'm probably going to try it because I LOVED Persona 5.
Me during the game: It's scary how good I am!
@get2sammyb The length of the game should terrify you, Sammy. It consumed three months of my life, and it felt like it would never end. I loved it, but it was too long.
@ShogunRok LOL you can turn the auto text option on helps when the characters talk aloud. I'm playing NG+ now
@Jake3103 Now I'm put off again.
Yeah I put like 25-30 hours into Persona 5 and felt like it wasn't going anywhere. Likewise, I got SMT IV Apocalypse and started that out of curiosity and was blown away by just how much better the pacing is. The opening hour is also one of the strongest I've seen in an RPG period and now I'm on the final dungeon at 55+ hours with every intention of playing the other route to get the second ending. Sometimes less is more.
@get2sammyb Haha, sorry, just being honest. Took me 137 hours.
@Jake3103 Good grief.
Yaaaaay! 😍
Loved Dancing All Night so definitely on board with this! Might buy it on Vita instead though...
Vita version in the west please, even just digital - it doesn't feel like a home console game!
