Shapely sci-fi puzzle sequel QUBE 2 will correct its spelling in early 2018 on the PlayStation 4, Brit-based developer Toxic Games has announced. Terrible name, guys – is that the best you could come up with? Really?

The follow-up was originally due this summer, but is spending a little more time in shape school. Often compared to Portal – as most first-person puzzlers are, to be fair – it sounds like the studio really aims to expand the scope of the sequel.

"With QUBE 2 we want to give the player more story but we also want to give them more choice," chief Dan Da Rocha said. "We've developed the tools players can use to solve puzzles, subverting the linearity of the original in favour of something more open, something that allows players to put their own stamp on solutions."
