Well we certainly didn't see this one coming. Announced during the developer's presentation earlier today, SEGA's Yakuza Studio is working on a Fist of the North Star game for PlayStation 4. At first glance it certainly seems like a good fit, given the team's penchant for burly men kicking the absolute snot out of each other.
All we've got to go on right now is the reveal trailer, which we've embedded above. Obviously there's no word on whether this one will make it West yet, but it's hitting Japan in 2018. We'll keep you posted.

oh i hope we get this, we could do with another good FOTNS game
This and yakuza kiwami 2? Man sega really spoil us ps4 owners
Can't wait for this game.
You know what we really need? A new Jojo game.
Seriously, the anime is almost as popular as Dark Souls on the internet. I'm surprised it didn't get milked by Bamco (but I guess they have no problem milking the SAO games).
@SoulsBourne128 The last JoJo game didn't do so hot in Japan, selling around 43k units at launch between the PS4 & PS3, whereas Hollow Realization (and all the SAO games at that) consistently did 140k units at launch between all platforms. Bandai probably thought JoJo games aren't worth their time and went with the SAO milking instead
!!! Kenshiro !!!
!!! PS4king Amazing !!!
I watched the anime when I was a kid, not gonna lie the violence during certain scenes were too much for me.lol
Wow, the PS4 is just getting EVERYTHING this gen. Utter insanity.
Until now, I didn't realize how perfect an idea it was for the Yakuza devs to develop a Hokuto no Ken game...
YES. I'll have that! YUUUUUUUURRRRRIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH.
Kenshiro working at a bar? Anyways, this is one of my favorite Jump series so I wouldn't mind playing this if it hits west.
This... makes all sorts of sense to me, actually. This team with this IP is... yeah. Yeah I'm sooo onboard for this
The logo looks similar to the Ryo Ga Gotoku logos though; I wonder if they're branding this in a similar way? Create a series of just "licensed Yakuza titles", y'know. Kinda like how Omega Force's licensed games are all "(Brand) Warriors"? Because you can see the Yakuza design template throughout this (the minigames, the RPG walkaround areas like that bar, that blue Kenshiro aura is the exact same particle effect as when Kiryu goes into Heat Mode, etc.), and its real easy to see it being applied other IP pretty well in the future too.
Yeah I'm definitely putting this on my radar! Haven't seen Sega tackle this IP since Black Belt, lol Nice to see them getting back to their roots (^-^)
(that is a deep cut. If you don't know what Black Belt was, congrats, you're not an old gamer man like me, lol)
Sounds like it's being g published by Iron Maiden
Loved the musuo Fist of the north star games, the ponderous pace, hearts bursting out of opponents, dirty and downtrodden (in a good way) environments etc. All went together well and this has just jumped to the top of my must buy list.
The music! The brutality! Im loving this. Hope it makes ir over
Reminds me of Madworld, the violence is so over the top that it is actually funny.
Omae wa mou shindeiru.
N-Nani!?
Perfect fit!
@sinalefa Madworld was pure madness. It was deadly stilish on Wii and I can't imagine how gorgeous it would be in 1080/60fps.
I like this trailer better.

Is the game even necessary? Ken's Rage for the PS3 and its sequel were already quite good beat 'em ups... just how will this game try to differentiate itself other than having Kenshiro serve drinks?
