Rumour: Expect a Monster Hunter World Reveal Later Today

Name now registered in Europe, too

Monster Hunter World has now been trademarked in Europe, alongside the filing which was spotted in North America late last week. This makes the likelihood of a reveal during Sony’s press conference later today all the more likely, though it’s possible the reveal could be planned for Nintendo’s event we suppose.

Word on the grapevine is that some key members of the Japanese games industry have been shipped out to Sony’s presser, which doesn’t always happen, lending more credence to the rumour. All will be cleared up over the coming hours we hope – we’re bracing ourselves for a DmC-esque backlash if this really is a Westernised take on the series, though.

The rumour is the XX localisation is announced at Nintendo, so maybe to end off Gen 4 Worlds is the name of that?

I'm not saying it won't happen, but I don't see anything about this leak that might point to MH on PS4.
It's just a leak about a new a MH game existing, and it doesn't give any indications on what platforms it'll be released on. As it stands, without any further information, it's way more likely for it to be revealed during the Nintendo segment and to come out on Switch. To sum up: it's a bit of a stretch in my opinion.

I have tried getting into this series, it just never clicked with me. I might enjoy it more on console though, compared to 3DS.

I still don't like the name. I like it even less w/ the : on the linked to search page, Monster Hunter: World. World really needs to have an S at the end, MH World sounds like an amusement park, MH Worlds sounds like an MMO, which I'm guessing this is. The : has to go.

Maybe this will be on PS4 if there will really be Capcom guys there, but my first guess is Switch. Is there a big MH MMO in Japan that never made it west? No wait, that's DQX, my mistake. I don't see MHXX becoming World though, not after MHX became Generations. How do you go from Generations to World?

10 more hours, I can wait.
