Traditional role-playing release Pillars of Eternity is coming to PlayStation 4, publisher Paradox Interactive has announced. The Obsidian-developed title proved popular when it launched on PC back in 2015 after a very successful Kickstarter campaign. Full of dialogue, deep characters, and player choice, it's a game that fans of old school RPGs will definitely want to check out.
Pillars of Eternity will arrive on Sony's console as a 'Complete Edition', and will include the title's two expansions, The White March: Part I, and The White March: Part II. The hefty role-playing package launches both physically and digitally on the 29th August.

Great news, looking forward to playing it. Shame there's no screenshots of the game shown here.
Sounds like my kind of RPG. I'll be definitely buying this.
Well this is great news!!!
I actually got this on my mac following recommendation by @themcnoisy but didn't get too far into it because I hate being sat at my desk.
Super pumped to play this on my PS4 and TV. I hope they optimise it as well as the developers managed Divinity.
Edit: and so soon too!
@LieutenantFatman Updated with the announcement trailer, has a few gameplay clips in it.
Yes! I am a big fan of crpgs. I was hoping this would come to ps4. I loved Divinity Original Sin and just bought Torment: Tides of Numenera. Perfect timing. I should be caught up with my backlog by August 29th.
@ShogunRok Nice, thanks!
Looks great!
BALDURS gate is that you baby😃
Instant buy
Omg hell yeah this news just made my day thank you push square. I played and loved divinity original sin, wasteland 2 and tides of numenera and had given up on pillars of eternity ever coming to ps4 so this was a huge surprise. Did they give any idea on the price
Got this on Macintosh, it's amazing! Will probably get it for ps4 as well cause I don't have all the expansions etc
I bought Divinity thinking it was this game xD damn
Played Divinity start to finish, which is saying something for me these days, so will be picking this up.
This is such fantastic news!
@Elodin Torment Tides of Numenera is great, I just finished it a week or two ago, 80 hours input and mostly just reading text, loved it.
Quote: Pillars of Eternity Complete Edition will feature the base game, optimized for console gameplay, as well as all previously-released pieces of DLC. The combat system has been streamlined to be as intuitive as possible. When enemies appear, the game pauses to allow the player to issue commands to all party members before initiating combat. This is done via the newly-implemented radial menu, and character movement assigned to the controller thumbsticks.
Wow, this is unexpected. I kinda regret now that I started this on PC quite some time ago and played through a large chunk of the game (haven't finished it though). Wonder how the reworked combat system and UI will work though, it's a whole different beast than the turn based combat in Divinity or Torment.
@Lurker Probably just let you pause combat whenever you want and hover over enemies/allies, open a radial wheel on each and que up moves before unpausing.
Whatever it is hopefully it works!
@Sarfa Whoops, thanks for pointing that out. Fixed now!
(And I love Obsidian, what a disgrace.)
@kyleforrester87 nice one Kyle I joined the Kickstarter for pillars. I recall the stretch goal was baldurs gate as an in game city so I had to stump up. Had weird issues getting the game around the time I registered to pushsquare, it was the main reason I ended up on ps4 funnily enough. Memories.
I love these previous PC exclusive games coming to console. When done right they are just as good if not better than PC controls. Fraction of price of PC and no twiddling with PC settings to get that extra detail or fps. Wunderbar swing them swords! Just bought divinity but no time to play yet. Diablo is brilliant. Elderscrolls online is amazing! Xcom 2 plays fine fine fine! Be nice if PS5 supported mouse and keyboard too as option in future games!
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Awesome. I have been looking forward to Torment tides of numenera for a long time, was just hoping for a sale. My favorite author Patrick Rothfuss wrote one of the side stories for it. This and now Pillars coming soon, it's great for consoles.
Whoop whoop!!!
Amazing news! Really looking forward to it. I'm a huge fan of Crpg's and it really annoys me how few there are on ps4
One of the best games I've ever played. This is fantastic news, and I'll be buying it on PS4 too.
Everybody buy this!
@kyleforrester87 @themcnoisy @Lurker @dark_knightmare2 @Elodin if you kids are interested this months IGN unfiltered is with the Torment: Tides of Numenera devs, probably going to be a good listen, I can't understand why this site didn't review the game, bit of a shame
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi I literally didn't even know this was out on PS4, and I am pretty switched on to whats being released. :/ Mental. Looks good though I will do some investigating.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi cheers mate, thanks for the heads up.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Nice. I'll check it out. Thanks. The stories in Tides are so unique. Looking forward to hearing what the devs have to say.
