We took CD Projekt RED to task yesterday when it revealed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would be updated for Xbox One X, after it had insinuated previously that it didn’t have time to support the PlayStation 4 Pro. Fortunately, it looks like the Polish developer has had a total change of heart, and will support Sony’s supercharged system after all.
Here’s what a spokesperson told Eurogamer.net: “I can confirm that we are working both on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro patches for The Witcher 3. No extra details at this moment. More info is coming.”
All’s well that ends well, then – turns out CD Projekt RED really are cool after all.

That's more like it.
The Witcher 3 is still on my list of games to get (just not sure I can do another open world at the moment) but might if it gets a Pro update...
Welp, I apologize for my comment on the previous article.
Good for CDPR to keep things equal across both consoles.
Might take that as an opportunity to try and play it again and actually finish. That inventory management, though.............. (I know there are storage boxes but it's still horrible).
@JoeBlogs The Witcher 3 is virtually a rock solid 30fps on the base PS4 now anyway - inc Novigrad. At most you may see the odd dropped frame or two but a lot of post-patches really sorted out a lot of the issues. DF did a video on it when the Pro launched and found very little difference because of the excellent support CDPR did post launch.
It will be interesting to see if they can raise the resolution or even go for a 60fps mode.
As far as CDPR having a change of mind regarding Pro support, maybe at the time, they didn't feel it was worth the effort and were 'too' busy with Gwent as well as Cyberpunk but now that Gwent is out there, maybe with more 'fans' asking, they have now changed their mind...
maybe they was just waiting to see what the XBX was gonna be before working on it to ensure that both offer the same kind of upgrade and then decided to not release it until the XBX had been revealed
If you really had any doubts that goodguy CDPR would leave such a large portion of their customer base in the dust (compared to xbox) then you weren't a true believer.
@Eternallover21 If they patch it, I'll be all over it. Unless the price goes up of course
Witcher 3 is pretty much solid 30fps now anyway with Boost Mode enabled on Pro, even in swamps and Novigrad.
This was inevitable anyway, now that Xbox has it's own "Pro-style" platform we'll see a lot more cross platform games getting support for them. It just didn't make sense for CDPR to work on a patch for one console, knowing that Scorpio was still on it's way.
Like I said yesterday talk to CDPR, E3 is a busy time but shooting off an email takes 10 minutes.
@JoeBlogs I bought the GotY edition for £25 recently - having bought the Day 1 XB1 version but not invested in the DLC. I played through it in its entirety and found very few instances of frame rate drops or problems - not saying it was 100% perfect through out and did have 1 (I think) crash but over the 100's of hours I played, it was mostly very stable.
I may buy the DLC on XB1 - if I get the XBX and they do update to 4k, rather than 'replay' it all on Pro. It makes more sense to play it on XB1 as I have already beaten virtually all the content on PS4. I may go to the Skellige Isles and spend time just heading from 1 question mark to the next, collecting all the Smugglers Caches I couldn't be bothered with... too much sailing from one to the next to the next...
I would totally replay this if I ever got a Ps4Pro. I miss Geralt
Will it still be generally depressing and make me want to kill myself?
I know it's a good game, but after two attempts I still couldn't get on with it. Still, with a Pro patch and HDR support I'd certainly give it a third shot.
The wind will still be howlin'.
We'll see, this could be said just to save face imo.
If the Pro patch is out before Scorpio comes out then fair enough.
My medallion is humming.
gods
@JoeBlogs I really can't recall any issues - not major anyway. I will confess that PS4 Pro is set to 'Boost Mode on' by default and whether that had a big impact or not, I don't know.
