One of Farpoint’s biggest selling points is, of course, the PlayStation VR Aim Controller. But while the first-person shooter is available as part of a bundle featuring the plastic firearm, you can also buy it standalone both physically and digitally. So how the heck does that work?

Well, the answer is that you can play the extraterrestrial outing with a DualShock 4, and it functions in much the same way honestly. The pad’s gyroscopes are used to enable you to turn the virtual weapon around in your hands, and you aim entirely using motion controls.

Unfortunately it’s just not as good. The form factor of the DualShock 4, paired with the less accurate motion sensors, means that playing Farpoint without the PlayStation VR Aim Controller doesn't have the same appeal. Still, we’ve captured a bit of gameplay so you can see how it looks in the video above.
